    Bilateral THR Bilateral completed

17 days post op. I haven't taken anything but tylenol for the past 4 days. Getting up from a sitting position is getting much easier. I am walking well without any assistance but need a cane to not limp. I'm still very happy with the speed of my recovery. No complaints.

@Josephine I looked at Jetlags recovery. Wow! I hope mine goes as well. It's nice to see what is possible. Thanks.

    Bilateral THR Bilateral completed

Day 6. I continue to improve. I get in and out of bed with little difficulty. I walk with a walker but can manage to go small lengths without it because I am getting more steady. I am able to go up a flight of stairs foot over foot. Downstairs is a little more difficult. My family and friends...

    Bilateral THR Bilateral completed

Having another good day. I do have some more pain but nothing compared to before surgery. One interesting thing I just found out is that my surgeon had to surgically release both IT bands. He said they were extremely tight and inflamed. I asked if this was due to my psoriatic arthritis and he...

    Bilateral THR Bilateral completed

Day 3. Feeling even better than yesterday. Walking slow but using good form and it's not a problem. Pain is still nonexistent. Was able to wash up, brush my teeth and change my clothes all at once by myself. Being transferred to rehab this afternoon. Still very happy about my recuperation.

    Bilateral THR Bilateral completed

Recovery day 2 and still feeling really well. I'm a little more stiff but still pain free. I feel I'm getting around better because I am gaining confidence in my range of motion. My doctor has given me very few restrictions and my body tells me when I move wrong. I continue to be amazed with...

    Bilateral THR Bilateral completed

Had bilateral mini posterior yesterday. Surgery started at 4pm. I don't remember anything until 5am this morning LOL! My husband says he got to see me at 9pm and said I was talking and doing fine. This morning when I woke I was feeling great. Pain management has been fantastic. I've really had...

    Bilateral tomorrow!

I can't believe the day has come. I agonized the past two month over doing both at the same time. Thinking maybe it would be too much for me. My mind constantly trying to find ways to get out of it. I would think on days when I did nothing and had little pain that maybe I should wait. Well, no...

    Calling all Bilaterals!

@Michegon That's amazing! I have a friend who had a right posterior mini with the same surgeon and she was driving in 2 weeks so that is giving me hope. Ultimately, I will do what's safe but it's nice to know what is possible. Being homebound is something that is driving me nuts and I haven't...

@Michegon Thanks Bilateral Jim! Do you recall how long it was until you were driving? Just wondering. It seems most people posting have had anteriors.

    Am I really ready?

Hello @KadburyK, I am 49 and having surgery on the same day. Mine will be bilateral. Reading your story, I can relate in many ways. My impending surgery came as a surprise. I thought I just had a bad back. Never in a million years did I expect to be in this position. My mobility has been very...
