THR new pain in hip replacement done in2015

I had my second hip replacement in July of this year and everything seems to be going ok, but I have now developed pain in my prior hip replacement done in 2015. I was watching TV and when I got up, I had pain in the joint and it was worse when I tried to walk. The pain also went down my thigh...

THR I am five weeks from hip surgery

I take my tylenol and aleve religiously. I will be 8 weeks on Tuesday, I will need my cane for a few weeks yet. I still have some pain but the surgeon told me the soft tissues take along time to heal. Icing really helps.

I will be 8 weeks on Tuesday and I feel I will need my cane for a few weeks yet, I don't feel steady enough to be without it. My new hip hurts when I try to go without it. This forum is awesome, best thing I found for help and feels good to me to know others have had my experiences. Have a...

THR I am five weeks from hip surgery

Thank you for responding, I love this forum, reading what others have gone through is so helpful. I think the surgeon told me that at 12 weeks I would be 30% healed, so that means there is a long way to go, so am trying to not get too impatient.

THR I am five weeks from hip surgery

Saw my surgeon Wednesday, the x rays looked good. I still have a lot of pain there but am hoping as the days go by that things will look up. I will be 7 weeks out on Tuesday, there is no way I could walk without my cane, I wish is didn't pull and hurt going down my butt and into my thigh. I...

THR I am five weeks from hip surgery

I really appreciate the feedback, I have been especially sore the last two days and the only thing I can think of that I did was can tomatoes on Saturday. I am looking forward to better days and will try the walking a little at a time. I did have to be on my feet more for the tomatoes.

THR I am five weeks from hip surgery

Thank you for responding, I will try to take it easier, I probably overdid even if it didn't seem like it. I know that I am probably impatient, there are so many things I would like to take care of and can't, but they will just have to wait. I see my surgeon this week and will have an x ray so...

THR doing too much during recovery?

I am almost six weeks out and finding that being sore is common. I think I overdid on Saturday and am now paying for it. How much walking should I be doing, seems to really wear me out., using my cane, couldn't walk without it.

THR I Have a New Hip! Surgery on 7/27/15

I have done a lot of icing and I really think that helps, I will be six weeks on Tuesday. I am not ready to give up my cane, but am hoping soon. My legs(both) seem to get tired easy but I try to walk some everyday. Yesterday was a better day and hope that goes for today too. Did read that...

THR I am five weeks from hip surgery

Wow, was that good to hear, it does leave me alarmed so glad it isn't uncommon. I have one more concern if anyone can help me, it hurts when I walk(operated side) it pulls down my butt and the pain goes down into the back of my leg. It reminds me of sciatica and wonder if that's what it might be.

THR I am five weeks from hip surgery

Thank you, it is good to know about what other people have experienced. It's hard not to worry that maybe I did something and they will have to go in and redo it and I'll be back to square one. I am looking forward to walking better. Thanks again
