I am three weeks post-op at this point. My ROM is very good at 0/120, though sometimes stiffness and swelling will cause this to vary somewhat. I have my last home PT visit tomorrow and then transition to OP PT. I have been walking outside and yesterday I walked for 15 minutes. Probably too...
Okay I am on Day 11. My knee is moving right along with very little pain. I am having peripheral nerve pain down around my ankle that is very painful. It feels like my leg is on fire. Believe it or not, lotion helps and I am hoping this is temporary from the knee block.
Otherwise, I am doing...
Jockette, actually he took the bottom half of my leg while it was straight and wiggled it around. Real scientific, huh? Said it was much too flexible. He also saw on x-ray that the joint and knee cap were not aligned. He thought maybe the angle of the implant was wrong as well. My knee did...
Yes, Jockette, he did suspect a loose implant. That’s why he did the surgery.
I’m on Day 8 (surgery day being Day 0) and it has been much different then the first BTKR. First off, I wonder how I ever survived having both knees completed at one time!
Second, the pain has been much different...
I don’t know if I need to add this to my original post that started two years ago or start a new thread since it’s a new surgery. I’ll let the moderators decide. BTKR was originally completed in September 2017. The right knee never really recovered. Turns out there was a reason. On August...
Okay, I am back again! My knee surgery was in 9/17. Knee pain continues. Was told by one doc that it was related to IT band tightness so have been doing stretching and PT with no relief. I am starting to think it is something to do with the knee joint itself. How do you know if you have a...
Alright, one more question. I have been told FOREVER that at one year my knees would essentially be “back to normal”. They are NOT! So for the last couple of months I’ve been treating them like they are normal...Could it be that I have just been pushing it too hard for the last three months...
No, my pain is actually worse! Now I have it in both knees and the stiffness from months ago has returned! I also still have swelling in my left knee that has not gone down since surgery.
I have been walking 3-4 miles a day thinking that would help with the ROM but somehow it does not seem to...
No I don’t to know the full measurement. I know I don’t have full ROM yet. Not sure I ever will! I am more worried about the fact that I’m still having pain!
My ROM in my right knee has taken a set back. I don’t know the degree of flexion but if I was guessing I would say around 120 degrees. I can fully extend.
