I have been a power walker and a very active person for over 20 years. I had my skin care business for 7 years. In the past 3 years my hips started to hurt so much that it was very painful to get around. I went the holistic way and tried chiropractors, accupuncture,supplements, stretching exercises to no avail. After consulting 5 orthopedic surgeons I scheduled my first TRHR for 3/28/2012. After a couple od weeks on pain meds I decided to wean off them. When I went off medications, a severe pain in my right hip continued with no relief and the surgeon informed me I needed to have the right hip replaced as well. I joined this forum because I could not believe that I needed another surgery so soon. After hearing from several members in the same situation, I have scheduled my right hip for Sept 26,2012. Today I am 2 days from surgery date and I pray that this time I will finally get relief from pain and limping and get my active life back.
I was born in Cuba. My father was born in Spain and my Mother in Cuba. I came to the US when I was 9 yrs old and lived in Spain for a year in the 90s. Now I live in Charlotte, NC and hope to relocate to Miami,Fl. after I recover from this surgery. Maria
