Hi Jo
Hope you've had a lovely time with the wedding. It's great to hear you and your knee are doing so well. It's really positive for us following behind.
Well weather was a bit hit and miss or the jubilee but we had a great time under shelter and still had a BBQ.
Sorry to hear...
I sooo know what you mean. It comes everywhere with me and feels the best. Basic painkillers are ok but the cyro cuff has become my must have to supplement it. Have made some fantastic icebergs and keep imagining the size of yours from the ice cream tubs!! :friends:
Hi guys
Well it's been a busy week. Knee has been pretty sore since dressing came off last Wednesday. It took a few days to settle down as must have been pulling and using muscles it didn't have to before
Scar is really neat and top layer is dissolvable stitches so still pulls a bit but...
Hi. Good to see you've come through.
Like others I was using crutches before so find them easier
The first two weeks was a work up to get out of bed lunchtime. Have a shower then rest and come downstairs to the sofa
The more you're resting the more you're healing. Your scar that's...
Well done holly
You'll find it so much easier at the end of week 2 and again with the swelling at week 3. !!!
Congratulations. Keep trying and all of a sudden the quads reappear. Xx
Thanks Kathy. Still really glad I had it done. At least I was expecting some fun with the meds at some point and the blues. The ice is definitely a must as new painkillers not quite enough but finding it easier each day
Be prepared for a multi colour leg after the thigh and shin have been an...
Congratulations on both the moderator thing and surviving the fall without adverse effect. Blimey talk about not doing things by halfs!!!
Glad you're ok bar a bit sore
Looking good lone wolf. Can't wait to see mine as only got a glimpse of it in hospital day 3 when they changed the dressing. It doesn't come off until next Wednesday when. Have the stitches out although it did look neat
I've been out twice for a quick jaunt with the wheel chair and have had...
Hi Thom fellow may marvelette spiderman
No pain meds sounds hellish. It's really hard trying to compare as we don't hit the hard physio in the UK but both knees. Well done!!
Try and keep the swelling under control and rest. Rom is really good although I found the pt in hospital 'got me' to 90...
How you doing?
Had a rough couple of days as tramadol was giving me migraines and making me feel sick
Am on codydramol now. Not quite as good but good enough. With ice pain back to ok and now back on with home physio. Also had my post op blues tears in between change over of meds
Went...
Limpy. I'm just going to the loo having a shower and moving downstairs then have to rest for a few hours
I'm just doing ankle pumps quads. Perhaps twice a day bending the knee and yesterday had a go at straight leg lifts bit today it's sore so will leave them off till tomorrow.
In fact...
Re: Panic attacks and hitting a wall please help
Emzie sorry to hear you are suffering
You could try building back up slowly. Just stand for abit and sit down and rest. If you feel a bit panicky just go with it try not to worry and let it wash over you. Then hopefully your brain will start...
Glad to see you are feeling better. Just think only four weeks ago you were stuck on a sofa or bed:thumb:
At the moment one week in I can't even contemplate being where you are
Keep smiling :biggrin::thumb:
Thanks Jacky. This forum certainly helps get your head in the right place. It helps knowing what to expect. My ethos is you can't change what is going to happen but you can change how you react to it
I'm sure a positive outlook helps. Don't get me wrong have felt tearful a few times but...
Thanks vivien
It's pretty sore today and I only did the knee bend stretch twice yesterday and tried the leg lifts although there is more movement in the knee today as a result before it gets painful and pulls
Good to hear you can lift yours as I look at it and wonder where it's gone and when...
I've got stitches and a waterproof dressing but all good so far. Hurrah for the toilet raiser in the shower! You do feel so much better after but have to build up to it on the sore days :hapydancsmil::bathtub:
I think pretty soon they'll have you trying the leg lifts. I know I could barely get the leg off the bed at first--I'm talking just so it's not touching--but they had me try just a little bit every day. Slowly I got to an actual lift.
Over here won't see a physio again for another 5 weeks...
