10 WEEK UPDATE
thought I'd do an update as the last one was at week 6.
1. Pain level is 1-3 varying on a daily basis depending on how much I do.
2. Painkillers now down to only paracetamol 2x500 3 times a day.
However may need something a bit stronger as my back is now playing up.
3. Before xmas my daughter lent me her old fitbit and I was averaging 800 -900 steps.
Then the dog ate the strap!
In January I treated myself to a fitbit Alta in the sales and on
Tuesday walked 1.32 miles around the downstairs of our house.
Yesterday walked 2.62 miles around house and out food shopping.
This was TOO much as I was sore and tired last night and today am resting more.
I now know my limit is about 1.5 miles so will stick to this for a while.
4. Can now get in and out of my car easily and driving is a pleasure.
5. In and out of bed is a breeze and am now sleeping on my side again with no discomfort _ BLISS!
6. Now have a fold up cane that I carry in my shoulder bag - yes it's heavy but I know I have an aid if I need it.
7. Now do basic housework, hovering, dusting, washing and cooking meals. Need help changing beds though and haven't tried window cleaning yet!
At last I can see how much I've improved. I still have a long journey ahead but I'm getting there. This site is wonderful and will keep you updated as I go along. Can't thank everyone on here enough for all the support and help you have given me. Just need to get my back sorted as that is holding me back at the moment as it can be very painful when walking. I am taking my recovery slowly in the hope I have no setbacks and my hip has a chance to heal nice and strong.
I hope my post will help others along their journey knowing there is a positive outcome so keep at it it's worth it.
