Hemi-Arthroplasty 2yrs later

Hi I had a bipolar procedure done on my left hip( cup was not replaced) after falling off my bicycle & fracturing neck of hip bone. I had a long hard recovery(14 mths before I could return to work) my question is did anyone else find themselves in same situation. I still continue going to physio, & find myself in a lot of pain after weight bearing activities for too long(eg; yard work after an hr) Dr says that this could be my new “ normal”?? Frustrated after all this time to still be enduring this after what should have been a 3 mth recovery!!

Given the time since your surgery, suggest you seek a second opinion determine what is going on, look for a revision specialist or some one specializing in complex joint reconstruction. You will want someone with out any connection to your present surgeon, not even golf buddies.

@Susanbear Hello! I agree with what Pumpkin has suggested... a good second opinion or even a third could be very helpful for you. It sounds like you had quite the struggle with your recovery and you aren't being unreasonable to want a better outcome.

I hope you can get another opinion and will be most interested in what you find out.
