My old threads are closed, it has been 18 months since Ive posted. My LTKR had been a total blessing on my life and my RTKR was a curse! yesterday I finally had the right knee scoped.. and as I suspected it was webbed with scar tissue. now the hope is that I can heal this time with out the scar...
I have been GONE for awhile!!! (my old thread is closed) I think moving on happens as the focus of our lives moves on and we think "less" about our new knees. I have to share that my Left knee is a Total rock star, it is NEVER sore it is NEVER stiff, I NEVER think about it, it is totally...
I joined the bonesmart group 5 or so months ago as I was recovering from my LTKR - that surgery has gone VERY well.
however as I have recovered and returned to a MUCH more active life than I have lived in the "decade" prior. It became very clear that my right knee was in much worse shape than I...
in the morning at 4:45 I ride my stationary bike for 35 min. after I got off I took my vidodin about 5:30 with my breakfast., (my 12 hr oxy was taken at 7pm night before) checked email etc, rested and got ready for the day. At 9:15am I left for PT (20 min drive) I normally take a 2nd vicodin...
I mentioned in another post that I used to train/show dogs. I had given more and more of that hobby up the last several years. But yesterday! I made my first step back, meeting with my instructor and having an lesson with my dog.
WOW, my brain felt out of sync and slow at times.... but my KNEE...
One of the hobbies I'm looking forward to getting back to is training my dogs. The pain of my "old" knee took too much out of me to be a good dog trainer. But when training dogs I used rewards like toys or treats, the often gets a "cookie" for hard work.
My progress from my LTKR has been good...
I do not have much to complain about, it is not really in my nature anyway! HOWEVER.
after a GREAT first 2 1/2 weeks post surgery I was at 0 and 113 I felt awesome.
then I think we over did it at my next PT session had a back slide and today almost 2 weeks later I'm back up and over that number...
while I had a rough appt this morning with a new neurologist (I have MS) I had a good day at PT my "mood" coming from my other appt must have shown and I got some extra needed TLC. Kyle (my pt) asked if I wanted to work on my walking, I said Yes!! I have made a lot of progress with getting my...
I'm not at all vain, sigh, I had 4 long incisions in my left knee that scared pretty bad from my surgeries in the 80s and my left knee had remodeled itself so much that it really didn't even look like a knee any more (sigh) and had been that way for years.
That said! I know have an almost 10"...
Monday was 3 weeks from my LTKR and at PT we added a few new exercises. My PT helped stretch me and really nothing hurt, felt like good stretches I was at 0 and 110 and I felt great, really I did. But clearly over did it, (PT was Monday morning) and as the afternoon wore on I noticed how stiff I...
I just found this forum and have found it very useful!
I'm almost 3 weeks post op and this experience has been LIFE changing for me.
I think things are going well,
I'm now walking 15 min (or .5 miles) on my treadmill, and 15 min on my stationary bike 1 or 2x a day.(and slowly working up the...
