it occured to me this morning that there might be someone who reads my story that is contemplating their own surgery and starts to think maybe theirs just isnt bad enough yet. so here is the answer to my own question. i graduated with my Rn 3 years ago, while i was in school i had no insurance. i knew that if i went to os it would be counted as pre existing and insurance would make me wait another year. when i started in dialysis and had insurance again after only a few months my mom died and i ended up in alaska for 3 weeks and shortly after found out i was pregnant. at that point there was nothing that i could do. the last xrays were taken after baby was born and when i went back to work. i'm the primary bread winner in my house because all of the mills around here closed. dh has a job part time and takes care of the kids. working and walking on my hip at this point is out of necessity. i have to have 1250 hours in before i can be eligable for fmla and my short term disability thru my job. i can tell you this waiting this long i risk the nerve being permenantly shortened. so if you've been told its time for replacement and know you've had enough. please dont compare to what i've gone thru. each of us has our own story and mine is severe. most cdh is taken care of in the first couple of years. mine just wasnt. God bless all of you and i pray the best for everyone here. thanks for you support.
