Natural carriage, good Tails also? We had a boxer but he clashed with the cat. Had the cat for 10 years and boxer was an adopt from older couple who died. I found him a good home though through boxer rescue. Now I have a pretty girl mutt. no cats. but want another.

doug---actually those are my lesson plans for MArch 31st through April 5th... I have four ---actually 3 and 1/2 labs---one dog is half lab and half golden retriever...

Parker and Jackson

Jeb and Reilly when he was a puppy

My whole family mourns deeply when we loose a pet. Including my extended family..I never found a scriptural basis for it but it is my belief that God is a loving God and that He wouldn't want me to spend my eternity with out all of the dogs I've owned. I believe someday I will lay down in a green pasture and be able to wrestle with every one I've ever owned. or every one that owned me.

Ref., What can I say? A picture is worth a thousand words. I would have too much competition for bed space. As is the norm around here, I'm the one who has to search out another place to sleep.

I think the good Lord would want us to have our puppies with us in heaven. This creatures are always there for us and always love us, how many humans are that loyal.

I have no doubt in my mind that that will happen to both of us. I had one minister who owned Newfoundlands. he had the scriptures down...but I can't, for the life of me, remember them. One said something to the effect that whatever brings you happiness on earth you will find in Heaven.

"If I have any beliefs about immortality, it is that certain dogs I have known will go to heaven, and very, very few persons. "

- James Thurber

Tim,
My husband would totally agree with you on that one. I did have a cat once but I thought it was going to give John a heart attack as he was constantly messing with his electronic equipment and no one messes with the electronic equipment. I finally found him another good home as it wasn't worth listening to my husband complain.
His name was fluffy my cat not my husband.

"Heaven goes by favour. If it went by merit, you would stay out and your dog would go in."~ Mark Twain

That, I believe, sums it all up. End of debate...

Tim, the lit. teacher sure came out with some good ones tonight..Thanks. And my dogs said,"Woof", on the heaven thing.

I agree Doug.
Do you know the essay "The Rainbow Bridge"? It has much the same feelings as what you have said in a beautiful prose that has brought me great comfort after losing my beloved pets. I know I will see them again, along with my beloved "son" Kory and his MWD Cooper who were killed together in Iraq last summer. They must all be having a grand time together now and someday will meet me to cross the Rainbow Bridge all together.

I believe "The Rainbow Bridge" was in a Readers Digest several years ago. I had tears all over me by the time I finished it. Now I've got to look it up.
Glad someone else is up. This is the second night in a row I've had trouble sleeping.

Since you are talking "dog" I have something to share! I have a 95 lbWeimaraner, who is a big scardy cat! I would love to get a good picture of her, but as soon as I open the camera case she runs away and hides. I have lots of pics of her butt as she is trying to get away from the camera! Now mind you she is a 95 lb dog, so she isn't really going to hide! But when I get to her, wherever she may be, she holds her ears back and shivers for fear! How crazy is that??? She looks so cute when she doesn't hold her ears back but I cannot get a picture of her that way. Another thing, when I take a pic of her in the house, unless I turn the flash off,her eyes glow like Kudjo eyes!

And as far as lifting heavy stuff, I was told there are 5 things I should NEVER do with my new knees.
#1. Do not lift anything over 20 lbs.
#2. Do not pivot to turn around, but take tiny little steps to turn.
#3. No jumping
#4. No running
#5. If you get your foot stuck in the mud, do not pull your shoe out with
your foot in it, but pull your foot out of the shoe.
They said when you lift 20lbs. it is like 127 lbs on your knees.

Just sayin'

Now I'm going to have to get some more pictures of my babies. I wish I had gotten them this afternoon when they were playing tug of war with a pair of my wife's panties. I hid the evidence from my wife.
Interesting on the different restrictions placed or in my case not placed on folks. My Dr. only said no running. He actually encouraged me to get back into Karate. That's a whole lot of pivoting. He did want me to wait a couple of more months before handling heavier weight when lifting. I don't know how I would survive If I could only lift 20 lbs

Thanks for the recipe Doug, don't know when I will be able to try it, but I will treat myself at some point. I must say the pecan Sandies sounds better than the Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies. I started Weight Watchers tonight. I haven't been for about 10 years and it has really "come along" since then. I am excited to get started!

I just wish I could get my mind in the weight loss game. It is so darn hard. I love to cook and experiment with various things. I get a great deal of satisfaction when I cook something and others really enjoy it. I'm just hoping that this new knee will enable me to knock some of the pounds off I've had jump on me these past few years.

That is exactly the way I felt, but I haven't been able to get myself started. With the new Weight Watchers, they teach you how to eat regular foods and still loose weight. They teach you portion control and how to get the right amount of the right foods. So you get to do your gourmet cooking and still loose weight...that would be a win/win situation, right!?

No matter how bad your day has been, a dog is always there to greet you, full of excitement and joy that you have come home. Nothing like that to cheer you up a bad day. Unconditional love.....

I have three dogs. A Great Pyrenese, a Beagle, and little Hans is a miniature dachshund pup. Little Hans' best friend is the 90 pound Great White Beast and you will often find the doxie head inside the mouth of the beast. They love each other..... Oh, and I have a cat named Marshmallow that rules the house. Karen

I am so sorry about the loss of your son last year in Iraq. I just can't imagine this pain. I wasn't sure what MWD Cooper met and Googled it and found a web site with your son and his Military Working Dog (MWD), Cooper. I hope you don't mind but I wanted to post the link I found here.
