My friend Vincent had LTKR on 10-8-08 in Oakland Kaiser, did not have CPM machine available to him, had in home PT and some out patient PT and now has a lot of scar tissue with below 90 bend and a wobble in new knee that Dr. wants re-open to re-adjust.
Has any one had something similiar and any chance of breaking through scar tissue and increasing bend without a revision. He plans to putthe second surgery off and travel to Kansas for Xmas and then to Costa Rica for the warm climate. We were there last year and it did wonders for my bad right knee that I'm replacing late Jan.
With my LTKR from 4-20-04 I had the CPM for some time and agressive PT after rehab and a very good bend after a manipulation and a dyno splint, which his insurance doesn't cover. That one has been great for 4 years.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks

That's a real shame. Shows what a difference the PT can make. I think he'd be better just having a manipulation first and see if he can regain some of that lost ground before he lets the surgeon start opening it again. And then a second opinion and maybe even a third. You start taking about reopening in so short a time and I'd want to be pretty convinced there was a real solid need for it first.
