Hi, all. With my new job and life in general, I find it hard to keep up on this blog. I will check in and stay up to date as much as possible, but wanted you all to know if you don't hear as much from me, it isn't due to anything negative.

In fact, I walked over 7000 steps today with no pain. It was my first full day in the office and I had a great day. I was totally exhausted by the end of the day, but no tears or anything. Didn't even need ice! Just a long day.

God bless this site and all who access it. Without it I think I might have become a stark raving lunatic. I love you all even though I've never really met you. Some of you are closer than friends I've known for years.

Blessings,
Skeet

It's funny.....I come home all tired and complaining. My husband says "Uh...Patti....you've ALWAYS come home from work TIRED".....made me think....that's true! We all come home, tired, at the end of the day!!!!

I have to admit that this is a different "tired", though. It gets better and better week by week.

Hang in there and stop by whenever you can, Skeeter!!

Thanks for understanding. My new job is very demanding and so is my new boss, but I still love it. It is so danged cool to be able to work a whole day and not be in pain! I know I'll still have bad days off and on, but gosh it is great to have a good day and know I made the right choice with TKR. Those first few weeks I really wondered if I had made a mistake. Nope, this was all good. All worth it. Life is good. God is good. Sleep will be good shortly. Love you all!

So pleased to hear how well you are doing Skeet. How many weeks are you now? Look forward to getting to the stage where sleep gets better!! Take care out there.
Ditto about the wonderful friends comment!! Sue

But I'm really happy for you, skeet. You made the grade back to normal!! Pop back and say hi from time to time, eh?

Take care Skeet...I pray for your continued recovery.

I'm not leaving the nest, yet. Just testing my "wings". I'm still here, no worries.

Nursepair, I am 12 weeks on Monday! It's true what folks say about the step function improvements at 6, 8, 12 weeks. See my doc Monday, if all goes well, then just annual checkups!

Well good, you test your wings but I'm not ready for goodbye's yet. I've been feeling depressed all day that our group was on the verge of disbanding. We still have one "chick" that has to have another TKR next week and I plan to be here to help her any way I can.

Hey, Doug, Me, too. I was helped by others and I owe them that same help back! I just won't be able to get on and stay on for hours like I used to, and that's a GOOD thing. I am not ready for any goodbyes either. This has been, and continues to be, a lifeline.

God bless you all. I'll be on lots more this weekend.

Good luck to you Skeet. I will take your place : ) unfortunately when I go back to work I hope I am not "cryin" since I walk all day for my job.

I would like to "ditto" Skeet. I received so much help here and would like to return the favor to others. Being back at work is awesome, but it does cut seriously into my time on computer checking in here.

You have all "been there... done that" and are the most generous, sharing group I have ever encountered in a discussion group on-line. Thank you for including me in your journeys these past couple of months. You helped me more than you can ever know. And besides that--- you are funny and make me laugh! Lightening up can be a big help!

And Josephine-- thank you so much for your generous moderation of this site. You have helped keep me on track and have dispensed your own suggestions and explanations without judging or making me feel foolish. We are all so very fortunate to have you at the helm!

I'll be checking in when I can, especially on weekends, and if I can be of any support--- would love to return the favors extended to me.

Thank you all
Carolyn

We were all very fortunate to have had our surgeries around the same time....we ALLLLL needed the same help at the same time....that's why we've bonded like GLUE! I can try my best to tell my son about the "deep ache".....he sympathizes but doesn't "get it".
We've got to make every effort to stay connected because we've learned so much together that we can share with others. AND...we've got to support the ones that are having their surgeries in the very near future. I HAVE TO BE HERE TO MAKE SURE THAT ROWDY DOESN'T GET ROIDS!!!!(Girl, I won't abandon you!!)

This has been a great healing place.....one heck of a COOL healing place!
Thanks for taking such great care of us, DORY!

Hey, you having another TKR Pattipoo? If so, when? We'll all be here for you, Rowdy, jb, et al. That's what friends are for!

Glad you are all staying around for a while, I still need the laughs and encouragement. As I was explaining about this forem to a friend today I was bawling my eyes out again. I really appreciate amd love you all!!

Skeet: 12 weeks eh? I am 8 weeks and I get to see my OS too. I was getting worried about my mere 90 degree bend, but another friend just told me that she wasn't even at 90 at this stage, she is about 4 years post op. Infact she said it was 9 months before she got there. However she also said she now has a 130 degree bend. That was her first one, her second one was quicker, and today she was getting ready to climb a ladder and tear the border off in her hallway. She is in her 60's by the way. We were over there tonight picking up her stationary bicycle for me to borrow. So no excuses now. Have a good nights sleep one and all. I will just check on the other threads then head to bed. Sue

I'm just hoping my good knee stays good. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it goes out. It has had to pick up the slack for my bad one for many years.
So I guess this means we have a few more years with this forum????

NursePair, obviously this got my attention, did your friend say whether her ROM improved through extended therapy or just in the normal course of time? I expected an increase, but not that much. Just wondering if she said.

I'm glad you have a couple of years before you go through this again, Pattipoo. I'm fortunate that my TKR was the result of an athletic injury in the 80's. Hope I don't have to have the other knee done, but now that I'm doing well I feel differently about it - I'd do it if I needed to. My next "event" will probably be my thumbs where I have arthritis. That's going to be a real pain as you have your hand and forearm in a splint for several weeks. Don't see a blog for THAT! LOL

And Gatiger, I think we all progress at different rates. Some folks get to 110 in 3 weeks and others take 3 months. You'll get there if you just continue to work it regularly. I've increased my ROM in the last 2-3 weeks by about 10 and I'm at 12 weeks. So, don't worry.
