Hi all, after almost a week of resting my knee after the long haul around Alton Towers last friday, I finally plucked up the courage to get back on my exercise bike..( I have not even looked at it since last week).
Surprisingly, it was easier than I had worried about, and got into pedalling forwards almost straight away.....normally takes a min or two...
So yesterday I managed to continue with 2 x 15 min sessions....
This morning I pushed myself that bit further and did 20 mins,,,,,,,same again this evening.......so that is my new goal.....
I must admit that I do feel better after I have done my stint on the bike...apart from the benefit my knee is getting, I also get the FEEL GOOD factor that I have achieved something.....
To all you guys out there who are worried post op, I have felt totally awful and in a lot of pain this week from overdoing it, but a week of rest and pain killers, and I am now back in good fettle as we say in lancashire....dont let the bad times get you down and depressed, there are ALWAYS good days that will follow......
Jo.....just a bit of news for you, I found a job advertised at Wrightington in Recovery that I am qualified for, so I have applied for it.....
I worked in recovery on nights for about 4 years when I last worked there, so I hope to stand a good chance......I know things have changed a lot in post op treatment in the last 20 years and I hope to be able to update my skills...god willing...
One benefit of Wrightington vs Prison...NO STAIRS.........lololol
Wish me luck ?
love and hugs Pat xx
