Hi all, after almost a week of resting my knee after the long haul around Alton Towers last friday, I finally plucked up the courage to get back on my exercise bike..( I have not even looked at it since last week).
Surprisingly, it was easier than I had worried about, and got into pedalling forwards almost straight away.....normally takes a min or two...
So yesterday I managed to continue with 2 x 15 min sessions....
This morning I pushed myself that bit further and did 20 mins,,,,,,,same again this evening.......so that is my new goal.....
I must admit that I do feel better after I have done my stint on the bike...apart from the benefit my knee is getting, I also get the FEEL GOOD factor that I have achieved something.....
To all you guys out there who are worried post op, I have felt totally awful and in a lot of pain this week from overdoing it, but a week of rest and pain killers, and I am now back in good fettle as we say in lancashire....dont let the bad times get you down and depressed, there are ALWAYS good days that will follow......

Jo.....just a bit of news for you, I found a job advertised at Wrightington in Recovery that I am qualified for, so I have applied for it.....
I worked in recovery on nights for about 4 years when I last worked there, so I hope to stand a good chance......I know things have changed a lot in post op treatment in the last 20 years and I hope to be able to update my skills...god willing...
One benefit of Wrightington vs Prison...NO STAIRS.........lololol
Wish me luck ?

love and hugs Pat xx

Hi Pat
I had my op in Warrington Hospital done by Mr Sanger who previously worked in Wrightington. The original was done in Nov06, problems set in, had a revision done May 08
The care from my OS and the hospital, fortunately has been amazing
Love Pam

Pat, that is great! You'll be so much better in recovery! At least you'll get time to sit whilst looking after the patients (least, we did!).

I also have a surprise for you. Later this week though as I was unexpectedly away over the weekend and now will be working Tues and Wed. But I unearthed the photos I took at Wrightington when I visited. I will scan them and post them in Lifestyles for you. Prof W in all his glory!

GEE thanks Jo,
you are so kind.
a friend of mine has just been to do my nails, and I have not seen her in 18 months...her mum is iffing an d butting whether or not to take her surgeons advice to have a TKR..I have given her this site so hopefully she will be able to make the right choice.
Ps will let you know about the job as the closing date is 16th oct.....fingers and everything crossed...
love and hugs Pat xx
