My last day at work today Ive been awake most of the Night I am terrified!!!!! I feel sick cant eat. I keep trying to think of people who are a lot worse off than me, but at the moment everything seems so Scary. I just hope this waiting around is the worst bit. Sorry to keep moaning on. The tears just wont stop this morning for some reason.

Karen, please dont worry you are perfectly normal. Of course it's terrifying, but you will be fine. I had so many doubts, fears and worries but of course it's like taking a tooth out for your surgeon. Try not to get too upset, you'll be on the other side soon and wondering what all the fuss was about.

Karen, stay strong, give yourself a break, take a deep breath, exhale slowly. I give great advice, but I'm 10 days out, hope I remember this advice on the 16th. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You're in good hands, keep positive, and remember you have friends here that truly understand. I would trade places with you in heart beat. 24 hours from now you will have moved to recovery side. be well and safe, speak to you when you reach the recovery side of TKR. You do need to exhale honest. It is so normal to be scared and a little unsure today. I can't think of one person on here besides maybe "Jo" that did not go through this the day before surgery. But remember there are a lot of us here that went through it and came out on the otherside. And cross my heart Karen you will be back here in no time telling all of us your stories about the hospital. I will be here with all your of friends waiting to hear from you!!
And sending up prayers tomorrow for you to come through all this smoothly. And I will be on and off today if you need to talk.

Oh I did, calling - and I've said as much often! Everyone gets the collywobbles but as I used to say to patients when they arrived in OR and timidly admitted to being scared "It's human nature to be scared - after all, we'd be real weirdos if we actually enjoyed the idea of surgery, wouldn't we?"

Trust me Karen...all I did for 3 days before my surgery was cry. I posted on here that I just couldn't stop crying and everybody on here was so supportive...it made me cry even more! :hehe: Your surgery is tomorrow ( Friday ) right? I will keep you in my prayers but in the mean time try to relax because after it's all over with you will feel so much better! Think happy thoughts!

Hi Cindy,

Yes my surgery is Today Friday sometime in the Afternoon. Got my bags packed and am ready. Bless my Husband he's so nervous to we have only been Married 4 Months and have never been apart. Anyway will see you all on the other side will be when Im out of Hospital no Internet on the Wards in England.
