I have a weird feeling in both of my feet tonight. I just started an anti-inflammatory because my swelling got really bad yesterday...did too much. Anyways, my feet feel like they are almost asleep when I'm sitting or even have my legs up. When I'm up and moving they feel fine. Is this part of the swelling process? If so, I know I need to get the peas on. I have n redness or any hot feelings around my knees at all.

Thank-you!

Cindy,
You have me stumped!!! I wish Jamie or Jo was on so they could help you!!
And Ice never hurts!!! Or Peas in your case!! LOL ROFL

Maybe you have 3 pairs of teds on?? Thats two to many.

Try to move around Cindy. That should help.

Good luck!

:hehe::hehe::hehe::hehe: WHERE????? or WEAR????? :wink::wink::wink::wink:
Kimmie.....you are too funny!!!:thmb:

Believe it or not I never got any ted hose when I was in the hospital. They said they wouldn't really help because I'm so short. I'm only 5 feet tall. The ted hose are suppose to go above the knee and they said since they're operating on my knees they didn't see any sense in putting those on me. Plus, I've been moving around a lot because that's the only thing that makes my feet not feel weird. Even sitting here at the computer, they feel weird.

Possibly the swelling if it's really bad. Unlikely to be the medicaton. Maybe you've got into a position where you're compressing the nerves in your calves. Try having a small pillow or something under your ankle, where the Achilles tendon is, and relieve the pressure on your calves and heels.

Thanks Jo. I thought it might have been caused from the swelling. The swelling got bad. Worse than when I was in the hospital. I will get a pillow under them when I have my feet up.

Thank-you!

Hi Cindy!
Lots of good tips here to get those feet feeling normal...but I had another thought...try doing 30 ankle pumps whenever you feel that "wierd feeling", and as the others suggested, get up more than usual, walk around every 30 minutes if you're able and use that magic ice. Hope it resolves and soon!

Hey Cindy----it has been my experience as a OB nurse-many moons ago in my career-working with prenatal moms with swollen feet/legs-that they reported a tingling feeling in their feet. Of course--with a big belly and all the pressure--however I heard this complaint alot--OB docs said this was a normal symptom of swelling--from overdoing. Standard advise--feet up--more rest. Don't know if this advise translates to knee surgery--but maybe?

My Left foot feels tight at times with the swelling--and I wear the TED stockings during the day. Anyway--do hope the "pea bags" as well as rest will help. Hang in there Cindy--you're doing great! Nancy

Thank-you everybody for the great advice.

Linda,
I do ankle pumps ALL the time. The nurse at the hospital scared me so bad that anytime I'm sitting, I'm pumping.:thmb: This nurse had no heart. She said if I don't want to get a blood clot I need to pump my ankles. She said too many times people don't do this and they get blood clots and you can die from blood clots. What a nice way to scare me to death!

Nancy,
That makes sense to what you said. Even though I'm not pregnant, the 2 go together because of the swelling.

Everybody, have a great day!
