I will be 4 weeks post TKR tomorrow. This week has seen the most changes. For one thing my knee doesn't hurt ALL the time like it did for the first 3 weeks.
These are the other firsts since surgery that took place during this last week:
Slept through the night (well 6 hours at least)
Used only one crutch around the house
Went to work 3-4 hours 4 days last week
I DROVE! (I had a right TKR)
I started "walking" without my crutch around the house.
(Those of you that are ahead of me know what I mean when I say "walking." It is more of a zombie walk, but its still an improvement from the walker/crutches!)
I went to the store. (Rode around Target in a cart totally embarassing my 14 year old daughter.)
I WENT TO THE GYM SAT AND SUN!!! I did 8 min on the bike on Sat and 12 min today! I am still using one crutch to get around and I was glad I took in with me to the gym.
Went a couple of 12 hour periods without narcotics!
I am now flat of my back with ice on my knee, but I totally thrilled with my progress this week. Its funny how the little things mean so much now.
Thanks to all of you for the love and support!
Annette
