Thanks everyone for the thoughts. Hopefully will get a bit of rest tonight. Wife is driving me, but I guess daughter wants to come along too; she is currently applying to nursing skool and canceled her volunteering at Stanford Hospital to make it. Mentioned to my wife, just drop me off and go back home to bed! She won't.

Best to everyone and thank you for the support, appreciate it! Derail away Joe, I'll have all the time in the world the next week or more to read. :snork:

    Hi @Wayfarer

Want to start a new trend? Ask your surgeon if he'll take a pic of your new stem and ball before he reduces it?

I wish I had thought to ask mine before...but I missed the boat (out of hips)....would be fun for show and tell?!

Well...I did get another blood test today (and the other on Friday)...there was a protein detected and they wanted to check with tests within 14 days of each other--the last being Dec 17th, so just out of that range and the reason for the two in succession.

I don't think I got the results wanted:

    AB screen, blood Positive
    ABO+Rh group type O POS
    ANTIBODY ID Anti-E

I wouldn't be surprised if this is coming out of my TTP experience back in the fall of 2006. From what the results indicate and the reason for the additional tests is that should I need a blood transfusion, there could be some complications. Guess just deal with it tomorrow; nothing I can do!

I do hope everything is still a go...so you can get this behind you.
I'm sure OS will make the determination.
I didn't have to have blood for surgery but I'm sure all contingencies will be considered.
    All the best today!

    Hi
With any luck your pain is well managed and you're resting comfortably right now.
Remember to take your meds on schedule and ice often :ice:
Hope you're able to get some sleep this evening.

Thanks gang. Yeah, hurting a bit today. Had a couple snags yesterday, but not to the detriment of the surgery per se. Will start a recovery thread.

Joe, you’re my drill sergeant; hope you will fill that roll. :snork:
