The walker tray Linda posted on the thread about me having a better day except for dropping the pizza, looks great! However I think by the time I get the tray I'll be without the walker...I hope! Getting closer. PT said maybe 8-10 more days with the walker. However, what I did the day I got home was I took a vinyl tote bag and duct taped it to the handles of my walker so I could carry things back and forth, however, don't think it would work for the pizza. I did call back and order another pizza. I laughed and told them what happened and since I'm such a regular customer, I got the 2nd pizza FREE!!!!! And the delivery guy brought it in and sat it down for me.

Cindy,
I glad to hear that you called for a new pizza!!! It surly was worth it wasn't it???
Makes abody feel good uh? LOL Have a great day!!!

Cindy--
Glad you got another pizza. It sure is hard to carry things after BTKR! Even with a cane I think a pizza would be challenging. Just remember, it will get better.

Blessings,
Irene

Cindy...so proud of your for getting another pizza...and proud of the company for giving it to you free. That is what taking care of each other is all about. I was like you with the tray or basket for the walker..I did exactly what you did..taped a lunch bag to it!

I am so proud of you for all you have accomplished especially with your hubby not being there. You should be very PROUD of yourself:wub:

Awww that was so sweet o them...i know the things we think of to get around and do things.....geez that could be a book itself...Good Luck I hope you enjoyed your pizza !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:)

I'll have to look for that walker tray. My daughter bought me a little basket made to put on a little girl's bike. You know, the plastic weaved kind? I put it on the walker and it would just slip down, so a friend of mine fixed it so that it doesn't move. So now I'll be able to put a bottle of water, ice bag, snack, or whatever in it. The problem is, the way he secured it, it really won't come off unless we cut it. So I guess I'll have to take it to the hospital with the basket on it.........

I started a post in the Information area for any helpful pre and post items that may help with recovery.

When I left the hospital, they gave me what we all jokingly referred to as an "old lady bag". Volunteers made these two-pocket bags that hang over the walker bar. Inside the big pouch on either side were two smaller pockets (for cell phone, remote control- I kept my pain meds in one). When I mentioned that I'd give mine to my mom when I was done with it, they gave me another to take home to her. :) (there was an array of colors and fabrics and we got to choose).

I used to make sandwiches for lunch, wrap them up and put them in my pouch. If I had hot food, I'd wrap it in foil. Other times I just had to make someone carry it for me. But I liked my "old lady bag".

I think that its cool they gave you another pizza. Gotta love a business like that! :thmb:

Cindy, how sweet of your pizza place to give you a second pizza. Sometimes these little things get soooo frustrating, but you handled it well and with a great sense of humor....the BEST way!!! Hooray for you!
