Not quite three weeks to go. This link has been very helpful, would love to hear from others who have had a double knee replacmement, how they have coped, what has been helpful and what has not.
Hello Nami, I am waiting for my surgery also. I am scheduled for Sept. 20 and will have both knees replaced. I would love to hear from you and how you are getting along now. I am getting anxious, needless to say. Good Luck to you.
Hello Agatha, thanks for replying to me. Unfortunately (fortunaltely) LOL I have not had my knees done. I was scheduled for surgury on 22nd August and a few days before came down with the flu. My surgeon of course said I could not have the op as I had to be in "pristine condition". I am rescheduled for mid march next year. I do have a sense of relief even though I had 'psyched' muself up for the op I dont really think I was prepared physically or psychologically. What I mean by that is I was run down with a high pressure job and had had quite a few coughs and colds over winter ( I live in the southern hemisphere) and was starting to look at the op as a welcome break which of course it wont be. With now having it in March I have the summer to enjoy and will try and rest a bit more but more importantly get some sort of exercise to help prepare me. I am in a lot of pain and cant walk very far ( my dog is getting very fat). I will never take walking for granted again. Anyway Agatha I have heard mostly very positive things from otheres who have had knee replacements and it will be worth it to be able to walk again without pain. I wish you all the best and now you will be able to report back to me instead of the other way around
Please keep in touch and all the best. you can e mail me at [email protected] - where do you live? Cheers, Rosemary
