HI All,
Just and update I am now 7 weeks post op wow where did the time go. I no longer need a cane or crutches, can walk up and down the steps using both legs. Still a little swelling not much pain which is manageable. I can go down and do laundry, fold it and put it away, do housework not that I am excited about that it was nice when I had it done for me. I can cross my legs no problem with bending or straightening, I can even squat. I have amazed myself with my recovery I read the post everyday and it seems that I am way ahead of schedule with my recovery that maybe I should not be doing this good. I feel guilty when I read about others having problems when I have none. I am a very determined person and do not like to lay around doing nothing I have always been a go getter and have never let anything get in my way. My family and friends at times forget that I have had a TKR until they see me walk then they remember. I feel really good and have been back at work since 3 weeks post op. I do get tired in the late afternoon but it has also been very cloudy and rainy here for the past two weeks. I need the sun I live in Mass. I have been camping every weekend and loving it. I love coming on the site everyday and reading the post lots of good advice. Thanks for listening to me also.

Sounds great missCheer! Life returns. Did you ever think you would be glad to do housework? Don't worry, that passes too! lol

I am so impressed. I am doing to give you a gold star! Haven't handed out one of those in a while!

In fact, I gave you three!!

Good for you! It is encouraging to hear some really good news. It makes me hopeful and inspired to keep plugging away. (I must confess, I am rather enjoying a bit of lying about now that the pain is so much better. :-)

Thanks Jo for the three stars. I feel great.
Jennifer, No never did think I would love doing housework and I am sure it will pass quickly. Linda, Keep plugging away and I enjoy getting a little sympathy every now and then. I just keep going and going. Feeling a little blue my granddaughter is flying back to Florida tomorrow after being with me for five weeks I am going to miss my little sweet pea. She visits every summer for a little over a month and I enjoy every minute. I have had a great day today.. Thanks all

I am new to this so I am not sure if I am doing this correctly. I had a total hip replacement about 4 weeks ago. I am driving, cleaning house, going to PT 3 times a week and doing some socializing. Do any of you think I am overdoing it? I do have some pain but control it with Advil and take 1/2 a vicodin 3 times a day. I still have quite a bit of swelling in my thigh and above my knee. Is that normal?? I also feel pretty tight along the back of my thigh. Thanks for any input and good luck to you all!!

Wow these are the kinds of results that I will be after! Will I get star when I show results Josephine? Lol I only hope and pray that I will deserve them......
Ralph

Sounds as if you are doing it very correctly! Yes, I know you were talking about your post, but nevertheless - you are impressive also. If you can cope with it and the consequences aren't too bad, you go, girl! You go!
