Hello Everyone,

I was seen by doctor Peatman assistant, Sarah yesterday she said the following:

Because of the leg length difference, I probably have bursitis in that area which she administered an injection after a painful examination. The sciatic nerve is also being affected as well as the lower back and left hip. She noticed a significant difference in the leg length. She explained a revision is a challenging surgery but it appears I have no other choice, it is tough on the body and the surgery is longer than a THR. I am subject to be off work eight weeks plus. If I was interested in a revision she would order a scan of the cup to see how it is fitting. She also ordered lab work to see the inflammation and infection markers in my body. Since the revision is a big deal she wouldn’t know if I am a good candidate until she gets certain information from the tests. This is the first time I was seen by Sarah. I like her! She was very thorough. My impression is she is just as good and the OS who was out of town. She spent quality time with me. I asked would she be in the operating room. She said, “Yes”. I told her let’s proceed to surgery.

It would be nice if God would heal me without surgery but if He don’t I am going to trust Him that He is leading me to do what's best for me. My life is at a stand still because of this leg length. Until next time friends!

Happy Friday!

Hey Ms. wow I had no idea it would be a revision. Im so sorry.....Sounds like you really like her, and anyone thats sits and talks with you is good in my book...Not shove you out the door....Good Luck, let us know when you are going. You know we will all be here for ya....I hope this will give you the relief you need/ deserve......:)You will be in my prayers as well....

I am not happy that a revision is in the future for you. Wish it could be simpler. But I am happy you got to a practicioner that you reallly like. Is someone a revision specialist . Or is it your OS doing the surgery? I would definately get a revision specialist.
I hope the injection gives you a lot of relief. Hang in there.

Hello Ms. [email protected]

He is not a revision Specialists. He has performed revisions. My first office visit with him was in February. One of the first things he said to me was I am not going to rush you into surgery. I will try to get you out of pain. If I can't, it tells me something else is wrong. He is the only one that diagnosed it as the leg length. I told one of my doctors of twenty-six years who my OS was he told me he thought my OS was the best in this area and to stay with him. Now the doctor making this statement have taken excellent care of me for twenty six year and never missed a beat. Therefore, I trust his judgment. He has ordered my records from the formal surgeon educating himself on my history of the THR. I have been with him six months the trust and confidence is there.

Thanks for your support and especially your PRAYER’S.

Well, it's good news and bad news really, isn't it? Good news that they are going to try and sort you out, bad that it has to be a revision.

It's in God's hands .....

Thanks Jo!
That's what I say too... Through it all I know I can lean and depend on Him. I am thankful to have this forum and the support my bothers and sisters has given me.

God bless!

MsSplenda, we are happy to have you as an active forum member! We all learn from each other and it helps others to know what you're going through.

I am glad you have found medical personnel that you trust and who are taking an active approach to your pain. God bless you, hon....sometimes you just have to keep searching until you find the right person to help. You will be in my prayers and I hope this provides the relief you deserve.

I do remember you posting in the past. I am so glad you have found doctors that you trust. That is so important. You will soon be on the road to recovery finally. I am very happy for you. My new hip is just awesome and I can't wait to hear you post the same!!

I am so sorry it has to come to this!! Know you are in our prayers!! 21 months of pain, I unfortunatly relate to that. I'm trying to find a second opinion because my hip isn't getting much better and I know something is wrong. Not to detract from what you are going through, but to let you know I understand.
I will only stick with someone who gains my complete trust this time (and my wife's). I'm glad it seems that you have found that! Keep letting us know what's going on please. You will stay in my families prayers!
