Hi everyone. I have my first appt. with the home health
care nurse today. Not sure when I guess they will call.
she's gonna draw my blood to monitor my clot factor.
The swelling around my knee has gone down but has moved to my foot. Looks like a grapefruit pain has Increased in my shin, (Tibia maybe?) My entire calf is
like granite, and is quite painful as well. Strange, but
hopefully just the way I heal. Gonna call the O.S. about
pain med's. this morning too. I have not heard from home
P.T. since friday, maybe I'll get some kind of Info. today
I'm doing at least 4 hours a day on the CPM. machine and
continuing with me quad, and foot slides as pain allows.
thanks for listening and being there, Tom

Boy do I hear you, Tom!!! But you just had MAJOR SURGERY!!!!!! Just the fact that you're on the computer is a great sign!! Be kind to yourself.....Just know that "this too shall pass!". Dig up that sense of humor!!!I find it REALLY helps!!! ((:0)

They MUST!!!! Look into those wind socks at the marine store!!! Seriously, they must somewhere???

There ya go!! Just getting there should be another adventure!!

Haha!! ANYTIME, TOM!!! See ya later!! And be good!!!

Tom,
Hope everything goes well with the home health nurse today.
You will recover cross my heart!!!

Thanks guys, Nurse swowed up, she was'nt here 5 min. and she was
gone. I told her about leg pain and foot swelling. She stated, " I'm
just here to draw blood" and suggested I tell the P.A. all about that
tommorow....Whaaaat? figures! Tom

Nurse should report that back to the company so someone is aware of it.

Did you contact the PA? No pen, huh?? So much for recording your vitals!!!
:shk::shk::shk::shk:

Tom Call your OS and him call a home nurse or the PA to get them out there today.. You do not want to put up with the unknown.

What a rude person. She could have at least offered to turn it in to your OS.

Do let us know how you are doing. We will be worried.

Take care of yourself. Call someone and let them know.

Hey Tom - how ya doing now?

You know sometimes people who draw blood are called nurses but aren't. They're just phlebotomists. Least, they are in this country!

I sure hope that is the case Jo.If she was an RN it is very embarrassing to our profession. Tom if your calf muscle is tender to the touch and hurts when you fles your foot, then call the doctor's office and let them know. You can still develope a DVT even though you are on coumadin.
