hello (my name is not artichoke, lol,) I am scheduled for TKR surgery July 29 in Houston, Texas. Was advised to have this done 3 years ago but managed to postpone surgery with stretching exercises and knee injections. But the time has come to get it done! so happy to have discovered this forum. I apologize for any mistakes I have made or will make as I learn my way around this site. The reason I am moving forward with surgery is that I began to have trouble putting much weight on my right knee. I play sports so this made it impossible to continue to play in fact I was struggling just to walk. I stopped the pickle ball and got more knee injections and my knees are feeling better for the time being, which is a good thing, so I am able to walk around, ride a bike and stay a bit active as opposed to just sitting around. I avoid lifting anything very heavy.

Your story sounds like mine! Amazing how we think we are handling our poor knees and then we find we were mistaken. It can get worse. I guess eventually we would end up not weight bearing at all. Happy surgery. This site will help you plan xxx
