It is 2 years since my TKR (left knee) and all has been wonderful; no problems at all. However, in the last month I have noticed a tight feeling in my knee at the top and a slight pain - not much. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? I hope there is no infection this late in the game. Thanks. Clarab

Hello, clarab. Good you've had such a long time ok but sorry you have hit this bump in the road.

First off it might just be some soft tissue inflammation but, if I were you, I'd get along to your doctor or surgeon and get some bloods done just to reassure yourself. Otherwise you'll be worrying yourself into a frantic!

I agree with Jo. You'll feel better if you have it checked out. My knee is 15 months old and I still get some soft tissue swelling that makes things feel tight and sometimes even hurt a little. One thing my surgeon told me when I went to see about this at about 6 months was that if the pain was in different places and not the same place day-to-day or week-to-week, that's a sure sign it is soft tissue swelling. I can't tell you how much better I felt after hearing that and I still keep it in mind when I hurt a little

Are you taking any over-the-counter anti-inflammant like Tylenol, Advil or Aleve? Being on one of those on a schedule for a few days might help.
