HI,
I posed this question in the wrong section. I am having my right hip replaced on June 6th. I recently attended a class at the hospital.
After the "portable" potty seat was demonstrated, the nurse said it is convenient to take with you. I almost screamed. How do you use the toilet when not at home with your throne????
To make it more interesting I was just put on a diuretic!!

Hi Judy,
I Am Nine Weeks Out And Have My Good Ol Potty Chair With Seat Rails At Home. I Have Been To Many Bathrooms, Handicapped Which Are Not Like My Chair At Home But I Just Cannot See Where I Would Carry My Chair Too? On The Way Back From Dallas To West Texas 5 Days After Surgery, I Could See Where I Would Have Wanted That Chair As We Had To Stop A Few Times. But, Maybe Someone Out There Has Better Ideas With The Ol' Traveling Potty.....that Question Has Made My Day....

Perhaps you should consider something like one of these, Judy

Mind it wouldn't help much if you - erm - needed to more than have a pee, y'know?!

JOSEPHINE - PERFECT FOR MY TRAVEL HOME WITH MY NEXT SURGERY. SO MANY INGENIOUS THINGS OUT THERE. WESTEXAS....

Josephine,
Thanks, that looks perfect. Looks like a great device for hiking also. My physical therapist and I were coming up with some interesting positions yesterday. I was really worried about peeing!!

Actually I believe it was developed specifically for the female hiking and hill walking fraternity - one website asked "Wouldn't you like the convenience of menfolk who can nip behind a tree to relieve themselves!"

Hi Josephine,
I got my whizaway in the mail. I am absolutely thrilled . It came very quickly. I think I am going to order another one for my hiker friend.
Even without the hip restrictions, it is great for hiking when muscles and knees are so worn it is hard to get up from a squat!!!
thanks so much for that info.

Well, I went to a friends house tody. I remembered to bring my Whizaway. It worked so perfectly!!!
Thanks Josephine for giving me the info on that. I will keep it forever, great for road trip gas station bathroom stops as well as hiking.
