Is there anything you can take to help you sleep. You still have a few more days dont get all worked up and its not here yet. But keep in mind we have all been thru it and will be here for you more then you now...The while you are recovering come on here and chat we will keep your mind off of things.lol. well im 7 days past mine and cant sleep either!!!!.I know what your thinking but it will be better when your on the other side and working toward your goals.Your just anxious to get started!!

the last few days are rough. waiting is aweful. i wish you the best. you're going to do great. the way i put that anxious feeling is like waiting at the airport for the trip to start, because believe me after youll be so much better then before. the truly wonderful part is that after everything really happens so fast. improvement is everyday. that 7 day mark for me felt just the same. plan a cookout. thats what i did, the very last day i had a big party had over 80 people over it really made it wonderful and kept me busy. i have to leave stuff till the end to do so i dont drive myself crazy.

Of course you're too axious to sleep!!! Just take some over the counter sleep aids!!!

Hi
You need to do some things in the next 7 days that you will not be able to do for a few weeks. Go to the place you like to eat.
Got to a movie, go do somethings you like to do. Keep yourself
busy. Have a cook out with family and friends over. Just keep busy.
Good luck.

The baby to so cute . That is just the sweetest lil pics......Aw when you cant sleep post pics...lol....You really will be fine....Its tough waiting but it will be Worth the wait...There are people on here all the time...Just pop in on the conversation or talk...Keeps your mind a lil busy...Look what you get to come home to, how sweet......But after surgery and your well you will be able to get down and play with the baby and not ouching all the time.....lol

Good Morning! Kim....Love the word "ouching!!!"!!! :)

Such a cute pic; can see who has all the hair in that family:p.
For me, the waiting was the same as when I was expecting my son. I knew there was going to be a whole lot of pain, tons of anxiety, but the joy when it was over was worth the whole mess:D.
Keep posting so we can see more cute pics and know we are all here for you:rant:.

7 days and counting,im anxious and ive not got my date yet.7 days and you will be starting a whole new life without pain every day how great is that going to be. look forwards to hearing your progress after surgery xxx

Hey, I fully understand the anxiety! I just found out my surgery date is Sept 10 in Griffin (south of you). My heart is just about to pound out of my chest. The nurse kidded with me and told me to calm down or my blood pressure would go up and I would have to get surgical clearance!!! :) lol Hang in there...EVERYONE seems to say "Its better on the other side!!" I hope you will post after your surgery as I will be haunting this site up until my surgery and look forward to any and all info.
Erika

Hi Erika You too will be ok I posted, texted and called everyone before mine dont worry about that all......We are here for both of you. Dont get me wrong first week or 2 ouchie (take medicine on time) but it does get better and well worth it...:)

Erica,
Anxiety is normal.....its what you do with it that counts.....we can get worked up, or we can use it to help us organise ourselves for the surgery...you know what I mean....cook meals that can be frozen, prepare the house....eg lift loose mats, make sure you have a toilet seat, find some hobbies you can do at home....think about other people and try and do something for others, rather than dwelling on the issues that make you anxious....
Being anxious is a normal reaction to the unknown....so accept that its part of it, but when you read the "after surgery" posts, mostly you read of people living life and getting on with it, and then after a while people drop off the site....because they are too busy living life to sit on a computer....

You will be fine, you'll have some days that are tough, you'll have some days that you feel down....we've all been there.....but gradually the tough days and the down days become less and the getting on with life days take over.....look at "surfsister"....she is absolutely flying along, and Andy....I haven't heard from him for ages .....he's too busy living life...

Relax, you will be ok
Rachel

Rachel,
Thanks for the kind words. You are absolutely right. I went to dinner w/my hubby last night and talked about "the big day" and all the details that go with it. Gotta get the laundry room cleaned and organized, gotta freeze some meals, gotta decide about the hospital and if the kids should miss school that day...all the things we all have had to think about. I did not think about doing something for others. Excellent suggestion!! I have not cross stitched since I was pregnant with my 10 yr old. Never seemed to have time. Maybe I will get some supplies and relearn it!
I really am grateful to have found this site. Already feel a little calmer and better informed. TRUST ME...you will hear more from me. :)
Erika

Erika, even I was overwhelmed with anxiety the last few days! And I knew what was going to happen - in detail! Didn't make any difference, still got het up!

Hi Erica- BELIEVE ME--I CAN RELATE--I do feel keyed up which I know is normal. My LTKR is MONDAY 8/10--I'll learn the surgery time today. I feel great confidence in my surgeon and the whole deal--but I only wish it could be done NOW--I'm having a hard time waiting.

Actually what Jo just posted about being anxious even though she is an EXPERT in this field is
reassuring to me too! So---always know that answers are available from Jo, Jamie and all the wonderful folks here to help. This is an important support system at this time for you and your family. By the time you go to surgery so much new knowledge and support will be with you--that's priceless.

All the best to you and stay with Bonesmart!! Nancy

I've been cleaning like crazy, doing as much exercise as I can (my Left knee hurts alot) and attempting to do as many positive things as I can. I do feel like I'm getting ready to have the "birth" of my new baby knee on Monday! Tonight my husband and I will have a special meal to celebrate (early) our 40th wedding anniversary--it's 8/30--and probably go into the hot tub--our anniversary gift to each other IS our present!

Skye....sounds like you have things under control. You're smart to do all those positive things not only to keep anxiety down, but to feel that wonderful sense of accomplishment! Wise woman!! Congratulations on your anniversary. What a nice way to celebrate. Just think...on your next one, your hubbie can sit across the table from a NEW WOMAN!!! Or at least one with a new knee!!!

And don't forget those really romantic grab bars! I can't think of a more significant present.....unless we're talkin' stool softeners! Live it up!!!! And very many more happy anniversaries! Being pain free will be a HUGE gift for BOTH of you!!! (:)0)

Hey Cmonroe I think your surgery is either Monday or Tuesday is that right. Well I know its soon...I hope you doing OK. We will all be thinking of ya. I hope you post when you can and let us know how you are doing......remember we are all here for ya.......Good Luck to you............:)You will be just fine...........Think positive.....
