Erica,
Anxiety is normal.....its what you do with it that counts.....we can get worked up, or we can use it to help us organise ourselves for the surgery...you know what I mean....cook meals that can be frozen, prepare the house....eg lift loose mats, make sure you have a toilet seat, find some hobbies you can do at home....think about other people and try and do something for others, rather than dwelling on the issues that make you anxious....
Being anxious is a normal reaction to the unknown....so accept that its part of it, but when you read the "after surgery" posts, mostly you read of people living life and getting on with it, and then after a while people drop off the site....because they are too busy living life to sit on a computer....
You will be fine, you'll have some days that are tough, you'll have some days that you feel down....we've all been there.....but gradually the tough days and the down days become less and the getting on with life days take over.....look at "surfsister"....she is absolutely flying along, and Andy....I haven't heard from him for ages .....he's too busy living life...
Relax, you will be ok
