All we can do is hope. I am in a bit of a hurry as I am getting old..
But....YOU'RE AS YOUNG AS YOU'LL EVER BE!

Well it's a great goal but unfortunately no one can predict. It all depends on how you react to the procedure and how long you have limped around pre-op.
You will certainly be enjoying some nice walks in the sun by that time frame.
I don't know about hips but after knee I was in the gym at three months building strength and bike riding 15 miles a day...
You know after you get past the first couple weeks, you're feeling hopeful and so excited to be pain free that you take it as it comes. Let's compare it to gaining and losing weight, you feel unhappy the entire time you're slowly putting any on, but great while slowly taking it off.

Best answer might come from your surgeon . You may or may not have restrictions in early weeks. My OS says NO PT for the first six weeks but walking as much as I can.
@RinTinTin
I can't wait to get this thing done.. I have a pop surgeon ( as in popular though he is a hunk too) and he is so booked I had to wait 3.5 months
Since I don't limp usually I have hope for a rapid recovery. Plus I have three friends nearby who are also hippies.. One is busy digging a ditch for drainage now.. One is at the dock swimming and the other recent one is back to three mile walks a day ( she was a last Nov THR)
Significant conditions need to be resolved before surgery. A dental procedure may allow bacteria to enter your bloodstream and cause an infection that could travel to your artificial joint. ...if you need dental work within two weeks of your scheduled surgery let your OS know right away.
I would call a dentist Hopefully there is an emergency dental clinic available. Call Today. And explain your circumstances. Don't play with fire.. Ignoring it won't help and denying it or hiding from your OS could hurt your new hip and you.
Morning @RinTinTin. It is suggested to get any dental work done including cleaning before surgery for the reasons of infection as mentioned already. Let your regular dentist know, if you haven't that you are having THR. My surgeon and dentist have prodacal of one antibiotic for any dental work including cleaning for first year post op. If this tooth is giving you "any" discomfort or pain I highly recommend getting in to take care of it. You've got time to take care of it before surgery. Do let your dentist know what's coming up as it's important for your future health with the new hip. Good luck!
We all feel close here on this forum, like family. I have been know to wag my finger at those I care about. So here's to you.... Happy days are headed your way!!!!
