NOW I know what you guys have been talking about with the radical knee pain during a big thunder storm! We had a major spring storm roll into Kansas City last night around bedtime. Oh my....my knee had me up every 4 hours ready for more pain meds ALL NIGHT LONG!! Each clap of thunder and bolt of lightening went deep down into the bone. When asleep, I even DREAMED about my knee hurting! In one dream I was helping load a bunch of stuff into the back of our pickup...furniture, logs, BIG stuff! And running, skipping, jumping up and down in ravines....thinking, you know I just had knee surgery....this is probably gonna hurt later. Then on the 4-hour mark, I'd wake up with - you guessed it - BIG HONKIN' MONKEY KNEE PAIN!!! The only good news is that I was able to stay in bed and didn't become a Night Stalker. The bad news is that the storms are expected to be with us all day today, so I can only imagine what fun I'll have the rest of the day. Think I better fire up the freezer for the ice packs....and hope this big storm doesn't play soon at a town near you guys! I'm headed back to bed to try for a little more sleep.....

Hang in there....you'll weather the storm. We had that weather allllll last week.

I must say that my S&N is gliding like buttah this morning!!

(S&N=Smith and Nephew)

I'm not too bad this am either Patti, fellow S&N. I got up this am and realized that I wasn't making all those god awful grunts and groans of pain I was making 3+ weks ago. I just got up. Knees were a little stiff, but there was no agony. What a blessing!

We've had those darn clouds and mist since the storms last Saturday. What comes here usually heads your way..They say this will clear out later today but to look out again come Saturday. Oh joy, just as I am working on cutting back on the pills.

Our weather remains cold and rainy here in Oregon. Expecting some warming and sun maybe later this week. I only feel it when the weather changes.. not so much after it stabilizes.

Oh, and, Doug, with respect to cutting back on pills, I'm thinking of asking my doctor to prescribe some hydrocodone that is 5/500 rather than the 10/325 I take now. That gives me basically 1/2 a pill without cutting it and makes it easier to get to 1/4, etc. I can always take two if necessary. What do you think???

I like the name Thunder Knee way better than Thunder Thighs... just sayin'

Honestly....every time the thunder boomed, it went all the way down my leg and into my bones.....ohhhhhh myyyyyy. Fortunately all that thundering stuff stopped today and now it's just overcast. I had no idea what everyone was talking about until I lived through it. Nothing like hugging your pill bottle all night long!

I've decided that "the doppler weather radar" all the TV guys talk about so much aint nothin but some guy in the back with a TKR...........I'm just sayin.

Skeet, that sounds like a winner idea to me.

Gat.......I think you might be on to something!!! Who knew!

well, our TV station hasn't got a TKR person because they can't get the weather right. You'd think in Oregon it would be easy - rain, showers, intermittent sun breaks, followed by clouds and a chance of showers.

He better be right about sunshine and 70 this Sunday!!

The sun finally broke through here today. Supposedly going to be a good week and then rain by the weekend. Which means Friday, the big fat monkey will be acting up.

Boy, I'm glad someone is getting sun. Here in Kansas City, it is still gray and it's now turned COLD. The forecast actually has the "S" word in it for Friday. Ugh!! I want to send my monkey somewhere else!!!

I need to find the monkey tomorrow I haven't seen him around here for a while..

Doug...I'd be thrilled to send my monkey to your house. He's too much of a party animal and tries to keep me up at night rockin' and rollin' when I'd much rather sleep.

No I have my own monkey thank you..
I never know what he is going to do next.
Have you seen the other pictures of my monkey??

I think that crazy monkey has been up Ohio way and has made me sick with a cold. Actually I think it was more like my monkey grandkids that made me sick. Don't you just hate it when you first get a cold and it feels like a giant ape is sitting on your chest. I think I might see if they will call in a z pack as I don't need to miss any therapy due to sickness.
