Hey my friend. Whoop, whoop!:yay:

I have been out of the loop as my son got married this weekend.
Was smiling so big when I saw this!:)

Can't wait until you get your "magic shoe" so you can get mobile again.
Hope your strength is improving and please be careful.
Here's to brighter days:SUNsmile::SUNsmile::SUNsmile:

Hi @Fractured.....reading your issues and am certainly feeling your pain! I have had my share of issues as well. Hopefully you have been recovering and the Lord has been merciful.

I see that it’s been about 20 months since your first surgery. I’ve got a few questions that I would like to ask you and maybe it will help me to put my situation into perspective.

For starters, how had a your recovery been going? Are you able to walk without assistance (cane,crutches,walker or wheelchair)? Did your OS go back in and screw a plate to the femur where it fractured? Are you still on the IV antibiotics or oral antibiotics now? Are you seeing an infectious disease specialist and are they doing bloodwork to check your SED rate and red blood cell counts?

I have had pic lines like you....probably 3 in each arm. I was having soreness in my upper left chest, so an ultrasound was used which revealed 2 blood clots. I was put on blood thinner for about 6 weeks and the clots went away.....pretty scared stuff when you think of the damage a clot could do! it was determined that I needed a more permanent access so a port was put in. Are you still taking pain medication and what seems to help you the most?

It seems that we have gone through a lot of similar experiences. If you have any questions for me, by all means give me a holler! Prayers for you to have a complete recovery!

@Glenbud2

My original first implant was installed at an angle and punched through the inside of my left femur. I was in pain like that for 15 days.

Since then.... 4 more hips and 2 hip spacers along with 4 picc lines and separate times.

Ive had a total of about 8 months in a wheel chair. Using a walker and wheel chair now. Very hard to walk since my 8th surgery removed my 5th hip. I will be like this for 1 year. 6th hip this March 2020. I am awaiting delivery of my frakenboot as I call it. A custom made shoe with a lift on the sole.

I do remember seeing 2 screws on Xrays that were holding the acetabulum in place. Bands were put in place to hold the femur together when I have hip spacers.

I am only on 1 antibiotic orally twice daily. Ive had 4 different antibiotics with the picc line. Vanco was the hardest.

It hasn't been fun but we have to make the best of it. Im just happy I can wheel myself outside for a bit now. Being stuck in the house for weeks/months at a time is grueling. But we must keep the faith.

Best wishes and prayers to you GenBud. We are going to prevail brother!!

@Layla @Jaycey Thank you my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In case anyone is in my situation. I liked this place the best. American Healers... https://www.orthopedicshoelift.com/...rpspyFW25vIb3YoZTxYkooND9LlwG4eBoCBUkQAvD_BwE

I talked with Tanya and she recommended I get a honeycomb type of lift since I will need a lift in excess of 3". It's light weight and only costs 19 dollars more!! All you have to do is mail them a shoe and in 10 days or so you get it back.

Oh my stars! Beautiful wedding video...simply amazing.
I'm so happy that you are sounding like your old wonderfully happy optimistic self.
That pain stuff kind of stymies that I'm sure..along with wound vacs and picc lines.
Happy for you to get some normal for sure.
Have a great weekend:tada:

Well, what a guy! How pretty is that sweet sentiment above.
I'll say thanks for myself.

I hope you're doing well and wish you and wifey a wonderful weekend!
