Lately when going out for a walk after about 15 minutes into my walk I begin to have thigh pain & have to quit walking. I had knee replacement this last March 2009. Has anyone else experienced that & know anything about it? I would appreciate hearing about this, has me concerned. Thanks.

Yes, my quads have been giving me a fit after exercising. I just need to do some stretching before walking much. Straight leg raises, quad presses, squats and the kick outs help me (sitting on the side of the bed and alternating kicking my legs straight out). Ask your OS or PT what they might suggest.

Hope you get some relief soon. Know it can be scary after you've worked so hard to feel like you are going backwards. Be careful and wise.

Blessings,

Hi there i have to say i dont in my thigh bit i do in other places maybe cut back a lil on the walks see how you feel...I would think the same just muscles but if its bothering you call your OS but maybe stretch and cut back a lil see how you feel.......good luck to you............) Hope you feel better soon........

All good suggestions. It's so easy to get muscle pain any time, never mind after an op. I suggest you see a chiropractor and get his input. A bit if deep massage and acupressure will do wonders!

I still have pain in my right thigh muscle 14 months after surgery. Exercise has helped enormously as I used to have the pain in my left thigh, but that has pretty much gone away. I still do leg presses, the recumbent bike, lunges, etc., to work on that muscle. At some point, I will have a massage therapist work on it with a deep tissue massage. With time and exercise, the pain does lessen and finally disappear.

After a year and a half, I do notice aches and pains in my operated leg and knee if I don't constantly keep the exercise going.....like when I spend a majority of a couple of days at the computer. I do think exercise is critical, even though you'd never know it from my schedule....:hehe:
