WOW!!! Linda! Welcome home! So glad the worst is behind you! Now let the REAL recovery begin! Just take it EASY & you'll be feeling better & better every single day! :)

Linda--
So sorry that youve had such a rough time. I hope and pray that only good things will be in your future!
Your post about the lack of beds reminded me of the birth of my last son. I was being induced and my husband and I left the labor room to walk the hall and try to encourage the little darling to put in an appearance. As we paced up and down I noticed that all the beds were full (as was the moon). I ended up spending the first night in the solar with three other new moms!
Blessings,
Irene

Linda. so glad you are at home again. Hopefully you won't need the whole thing replaced. Fingers crossed you will be in the clear very soon. Good luck ((((HUGS)))) Sue

I've finally been allowed to remove my dressing today and, joy of joys, no staples or stitches to be removed. It wasn't actually my surgeon who did the washout (he was seeing private patients that day) but one of his colleagues and he must favour the dissolvable stitch route. Only another couple of days and I can jump (not literally!) into the bath or shower. Can't wait! Linda x

It's back to clinic tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to it. Still lots of pain in the knee and it's swelling again in the same places it did before the infection was washed out. The antibiotics are making me feel grim too - I don't think my insides will ever be the same again! I'm having a real Eyeore day today which my husband says is allowed, but I don't like being so grumpy and despondent. Hopefully Tigger will return soon! Linda x

Linda
I just caught up on the last part of this thread. I am so sorry you are having to go through all this. Please know that southern california is routing for you. Whatever happens we are here. Tigger will get there. I was tigger one evening when I worked in a store and found the costume.
Prayers and hugs
Judy

Linda, so sorry you are still experiencing problems. Dang!!! NO FAIR!!! You have THE BEST attitude, though. It is such an inspiration. And I know you will stay of top of things....you're one with-it gal. Take care of yourself and I'll keep you in my prayers that this can be past you soon.

Linda, get some of those little probiotic yoghurt drinks and have one every day. It restores the normal flora in your gut which is what makes you feel yucky and sicky. Worked a treat for me.

Thanks Jo. I'll send Paul out to get some tomorrow. Anything's worth a try. Linda x

I remember getting acidopholus capsules at the health food store when my kids were on antibiotics for ear infections and sprinkiling a little in yogurt for them. Good Luck with that and tomorrow Linda

Not much to report after today's visit. My consultant was pleased with the way the wound has healed on the outside and that there's no leakage, so everything crossed that the infection's clearing. Had more blood taken and got to go back again in 2 weeks time. As I write, Paul's shopping! Linda x

Whoo Hoo, Linda! So glad to hear some good news from you! I'll be keeping my fingers crossed too that things continue to improve.

With my consultant's permission we went to visit my mother in Norfolk for the weekend (She'll be 90 in July so each year we wonder whether this will be the last Mothering Sunday we get to spend with her.) The knee definitely didn't like the long car journeys. It wasn't so much the sitting in more or less the same position for a long time, although we did stop more often than usual, it was the constant 'jiggling' and feeling every bump. I realised that English road surfaces, even the motorways, leave a lot to be desired! As a result today is having to be a very gentle day - lots of rest and icing. It's back to the hospital on Thursday, presumably for more blood tests, but hopefully also to get the results of the last ones and to hear that the infection is on the way out. Linda x

Linda, so glad you were able to get to see your mother. I know it was a wonderful time for both of you!! I will be praying that the report you receive from your appointment on Thursday is a good one and that you are finally crossing over to the "good" side of recovery!

The latest on the knee - I went to the hospital this afternoon but saw one of the consultant's underlings rather than the man himself, who didn't seem to be around at all. This was one I hadn't seen before so it took him a while to go through all my notes and history. (It looked as if someone had dropped my file and just shoved things in anywhere.) Eventually he found the blood test results from 2 weeks ago and the infection level has dropped which is good news. But this week the knee has become very painful again and I haven't been feeling so well so I've had more blood taken and if there's a problem someone will ring me tomorrow or Monday. Otherwise I go back in 3 weeks time. So the waiting continues........ Linda x

I'll still keep the prayers coming, Linda! I hope your pain is just a temporary fluke and that the infection continues to go away. You ARE a trooper!!!

So Sorry Linda,
That you are having pain in your knee again. I can not even start to put myself in your shoes. But you will know tomorrow hopefully if the infection has started back up??? And maybe I missed something here but the new Dr. never said the infection was gone through either did he??? Like I said maybe I missed something. I will keep you in my prays Linda! I know that your nerves have to be fraying.
^i^
