I am 56 yeas old. I had my hip replacement done on September 11. I have had no pain medication since day 3. I used a walker for 6 days and have ben walking on my own since then. I started physical therapy on September 18, by September 25 I was no longer walking with a limp. I was cleared to go back work after three weeks (and I am on my feet 8 hours a day). I have no pain, just an occasional achiness in my thigh. I know it isn't this easy for everyone, but I just wanted everyone considering the surgery to know that not everyone has difficult recoveries.

That is fantastic, susbrew!! Totally fantastic. Trouble with this kind of forum is that only folk with problems will be looking on the internet for help. Most of the people who have recoveries like yours will be too busy getting on with life to worry. So I thank you greatly for taking the time to come and share. That is very much appreciated. I hope you go from strength to strength. God bless.

Two weeks to go until my own right hip replacement and I find this posting.
I am completely anxiety-ridden trying to tie up loose ends at work and figure out how I can get by on only 3 weeks' pay - but
WHOO-HOO FOR YOU! That is SO fantastic - it gives me incredibly good feelings of hope. I have the will and desire to come through this well and happy and your story reinforces my resolve.
Thanks so much! Enjoy you new active lifestyle! I know I'm never going to take walking for granted again!
