Okay so I am talking about sex. The pamphlet from the discharge unit at the hospital is not very helpful. Just says make love when you feel like it and be careful in the position you choose. I am now just 8 weeks since LTKR & honestly I couldn't care less. However, hubby (who has been incredibly supportive & helpful) would like to know when the drought will be over. I don't know what to tell him. I also don't know what position might be better. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Trying not to blush as I write this but this is what the forum is for !!!!!!!!!!

You probably will need to experiment to see what works. I am sure you will probably not want to put full weight on your knees...but lots of pillows could even make that possible. Seems to me you need to pretend like it is the first time you have had sex and see what works!

First you're not going to hurt your implants so there is no threat of permanent injury. But, putting stress in the wrong place at the wrong time can certainly be distracting.
The second thing to consider is did you replace both knees or only one. If you only did one (my case) a couch where you can rest the operated knee and rest your weight on the other seemed to work well (use your imagination)

Speaking from experience. Take your pain pill if less than 1 month out. Missionary with TKR piled up with pillows. Further down the road, sideways with TKR on top of his leg. I won't try on knees as too afraid of what will happen, maybe later when other knee is finished healing. I think that's how this happened in first place.:hehe::D
