I had thr on 11/14. today is 12/12. How long to I HAVE TO WEAR THESE ted hose?? thanks kr70

LOL! That's a cry from the heart! Don't know anyone that likes those things. To be frank, I'd have ditched them after 2-3 weeks unless the surgeon specifically said otherwise.

I never had to wear them. I guess I would ask my doc if I were you!!

I had to wear mine until my staples were removed - 2 weeks post op.

Fortunately I also never had to wear them and experienced no problems.
I guess it's an individual thing and up to the doctor.

I had to wear them when I had my left hip replaced. I had to wear them for 3 weeks. Then when I had my right hip replaced I didn't have to wear them. (I had a different doctor) I do think they keep the swelling down some.

This is kr70, called my Doc this am and he says they should stay on until 6 weeks. My wife says look like Ben Franklin and I don't think it is a compliment. Thanks for feedback kr70

Wow, wonder why your Dr says 6 weeks and some of us (like me) didn't have to wear them at all. I did have two of those tests for deep vein problems in the hospital -- maybe that reassures the Dr?
