Technical Question for Josephine

Josephine, off and on we have had threads regarding receiving email notifications from the system administrator and people wanted to know how to stop them. If you're involved in a lot of threads, the number of messages can be quite large. We keep thinking we've figured it out, but it keeps happening. This last time, we talked about making sure that in the Profile Options screen, you check that you want no messages like this from the system administrator. I have had that checked and saved now for a couple of days and tonight I received a pile of emails regarding the threads I've posted to. Is there a time period for this change to the Profile Options screen to take effect? I would expect it to be immediate once you make that change. I hope you can help resolve this problem......thanks! ....Jamie

The only feature I know of is this one. But make sure you have "No email notification" selected.

BUT don't forget to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on "Save Changes"!

Yep, that's just what I did and today when I got all the email notifications, I went back to see if "no email" was still selected and it was!!! I don't understand it!!! But, if that's all that can be done, I guess I'll just be deleting emails every once in a while. Maybe one day the magic computer fairy will wave her wand and everything will be fine. I have the same issue, Jamie. I also made sure I checked the box right and saved changes...

Right after I read your post jamie I checked my email and there it was. I think it was the weekliy update. 80+ OF THEM! I double checked my posting/edit preferences. We'll see.

Josephine, do you have some computer systems guys you can report this problem to? It would appear that maybe the screen check block isn't working to stop these notifications if all of us did it correctly and still get the emails.

How about blocking the emails in your email client? Just a thought.

Blondie, that was what we tried before and it didn't work either. Thanks, though....maybe the systems administrator can figure it out for us.
