Thanks Chris - yes I wonder if the day will come where I don't blame every little creak and ache on my new "bits"??? Oh well - I guess it's all a learning experience! :)

i remember the first time when I didn't automatically presume that my sons cancer had returned because he had a fever.....some days later it occurred to me that I hadn't been worried about him and that I was just caring for a normal childhood illness. Its a great day!

Chris I'm still using my "reacher" to aid in getting into pants. There is no way I can do it otherwise! Sitting on the bed - I take the pants to my feet and with the reachers help, get into them one leg at a time. I've tried doing it standing and hanging onto the dresser with one hand, but it hurts like heck! I'll keep my eyes open for a dressing tool - but I haven't seen one to date.

Time to invent a "pant puter onerer". I invented a sock gizmo and then discovered that it had already been invented! I was pleased that mine worked and I've since given it away ....I put my socks on by doing a weird manouver, I must go and make/buy another one!

Invent away Rachel - I'll be your first customer! :) Mind you - since I've been using the pool on a regular basis I'm finding it easier to get dressed. Still have to use my reacher, but it's definitely much easier than it used to be - thank goodness! My poor old muscles must be recovering slowly! :)

Hi Peta,

Pleased to hear you are using the pool, flippers are fun too, and seem to straighten out that kickboard style. I checked with the OS before I used them. Also pleased to hear the thigh pain is lessening. Hopefully it will just disappear into oblivion. (I shouldn't write words I don't know how to spell) LOL

I hope you had a lovely weekend. I've been at a cricket match today, just a friendly match with lots of friends and family, to raise money for a cancer charity. I didn't play but I did go for the longest walk I have been for in years. I made it, no pain, just some clunking in the knee, but I can live with clunking. It was an absolutely glorious Autumn day. We all had a great day. I'm going to put my feet up for a minute or two now.

Chris :)

Can't see any spelling errors, Chris. But just as a suggestion, I use this all the time!

Dictionary.com - also contains Thesaurus.com! Great resource.

Thanks Chris - I've had a lovely weekend! Good to hear how well you did on the walk - you really are going ahead with leaps and bounds! It's an amazing feeling isn't it? I worked most of today and I still get so much pleasure out of being able to stand or move around at work with no pain that I absolutely love being there! :)
Hope the cricket match raised heaps of money - sounds like it was for a good cause!
I've just been in the pool and I used my daughters old flippers - good suggestion! You should have seen me power up and down the pool! Sure beats crawling along with just the kickboard. I've noticed a huge difference in muscle strength since I've been using the pool on a regular basis - I reckon that's made more of a difference than any of the exercises I'm doing! Have a lovely week - hope to talk to you on here at some stage during the week! Stay happy :)

I am planning on jumping into the pool again as soon as my new bathing suit arrives. I still can't find last years worn out one. I remember how much my range of motion increased after my hip replacement by swimming. It has not been warm enough for an outdoor pool for me yet this year, but I belong to a gym with many locations and many indoor pools. I'm pretty excited about it. I even paid the extra postage to get the suit here faster.

The pool is great for strengthening, the flippers increase that, they also make you feel like you are getting somewhere as you actually move through the water. I read somewhere too they align your body so you are actually straighter in the water, so that would have to be a good thing.

Peta, so pleased you are enjoying life again.

Thanks Jo for the suggestion of the dictionary, very useful.

Chris :)
