My surgery is officially set for 10:30 tomorrow morning. So far I'm just a little nervous. The thing I've been most worried about is the fact that they do not use catheters. How is that going to work during surgery and while I'm waking up???

I worried about personal care after surgery but I didn't need a catheter & the staff were wonderful in helping me use a bedpan. Try not to worry about it, concentrate on getting well. Good luck with your surgery. ☺

Since you will have fasted for some hours before surgery, that won't be a problem. I've never found I needed to pee until several hours post-op. Plus you'll have had a spinal so that will add to the suppression of urgency!

However, if you do have a need, hospitals have things called urine bottles. And you, being a feller, are ideally constructed to make use of these things!
