Thought i would share my first hand experience about the new experimental
treatment of AVN with your own stemcells. got AVN because of prednisone
usuage and was suffering with AVN for 8 months and only treatment option
to treate it was THR (there are other treatments like core-decompression
etc. but success rate is very less) i came across this stemcell treatment in
my search over internet and found out that there are only two clinics who
are offering this in USA. I have found out that insurance doesn't cover for
the treatment so i took it upon myself to pay the whole cost of the
treatement and it was costing about $6000 (excluding flight & hotel etc).
the treatment did not work at all and the pain remained the same for the
entire time, and no wonder that not many doctors are offering this
treatment. if anyone is offering this then they are trying to make some quick
bucks and the treatment is not proven to work yet.
