Okay, you guys, it's about time for me to say goodbye. I'm a little over six months post-op and the only time I've had any real problems lately was when I went to an exercise class that was too hard for me because it involved too much time on my hands and knees. Now that I've recovered from that, I'm doing great. I am gardening (not on my hands and knees!), working really hard, and getting on with life.
I decided to take a trip to Minneapolis to walk in a 5K anti-war march with my sister (who also had a TKR, in December) on Memorial Day weekend. Afterwards we're going up to our mom's cabin to spend a few days doing interior painting. This is a lot more active than I was able to be for a couple of years before my TKR. So I guess I'm pretty much recovered--although I do hope to have continued improvement!
I bought New Balance lightweight hiking boots today and am planning to use them daily to get ready for the 5K. I walked a brisk mile in them today and it was no problem. I'll increase the distance tomorrow, and I'm also going to ramp up my exercise bike time.
I appreciate all the support I've gotten here, and I hope I've helped a few folks, too. Best of luck!
