one week after the MUA and I think i'm going to survive (smile). I had my first outpatient PT yesterday and thought I would die but I got through it ... today I feel like I can't walk but know from reading all the posts that this will pass.... today I had my first real outing that was not hospital related and it was nice -- I used a crutch but wished I had the walker ... using ice a lot too. The CPM will be picked up next week but I honestly believe I may be OK without it.

I will go to PT twice a week for six weeks - i know it will be hard work but i'm up for the task...I see my OS on wednesday and hope he is happy!!

Just wanted to give you all an update...

Char.....I'm so happy for you. It's great that you have such a positive attitude and are moving forward. I know the future will be better for you!!! Keep up the hard work and you'll be there! Be sure and report on the doctor visit! Good luck!

Jo--- that looks like my kitty--- except she is pouting because we are talking seriously of getting a puppy. She keeps claiming she has an "exclusive pet" clause in her contract!

Char, i"m so glad to hear you are going along. You know the old addage, it will not be like this 5 minutes for the rest of your life. Seems like you've moved on to the next hour... keep it up, you'll be great.
Beach, we keep asking our dog if she wants a pet kitty, no response as of yet...

Char, I'm glad to hear all is going well after the MUA. I'll be having one at the same time I have my next tkr and I'm wondering if it will be sort of like a bilat the first few days. Everyone I've read about having one seems happy with the result.

Beach, I have 3 dogs and a cat and the cat is the oldest. He was never happy when a new dog came in the house but he got over it. The cat is definitely the boss and will tell them to get out of the way if they bother him. They really do love each other and we'll often find the cat cuddling with the 85 lb beast.

Kinda like this, eh beach?

LOL!
EXACTLY--- except she hasn't even *seen* a puppy yet!
(actually she looks just like that when anyone picks here up.... she was a "rescue cat" and was apparently over-handled by kids and abused by a man before I got her. She's still kinda skittish even after almost 2 years in a happy home.)
Here is Shayna, sitting on "her" birdhouse and wondering why birds never stay very long?

Oh, Beach!!! Your cat is soooo funny!!! I love that photo!

Beach, I bet you could get $50 or something from Readers Digest for that pix! How precious.

This is my favorite picture of her.... there had been a lot of nest-building action in that birdhouse---- and she just couldn't resist checking to see if anyone was home----- funny, the birds never came back after that.... Go figure....

These pictures were taken last spring... she gained weight over the winter and can't make it to the top this year. She takes a running start, makes it about 2/3 of the way up, then gets this helpless, pathetic look on her face and slowly scoots back down. It is priceless.

What kind of flowering tree/bush is that in the background?

The background is a big honeysuckle bush/vine and the foreground is a lavatera.

Glad to hear things are going so well, Char. I'm sure your post is encouraging for others facing MUA. God bless your recovery and speed you towards a full ROM!

Yes, do keep up the good work, char. You sound like you are getting on top of it. All power to you!

beach - I love those pics! I had a common or garden bird feeder, little wooden house thing with a roof, similar to that and I found my cat curled up in it sound asleep! But by the time I had fetched my camera, he had moved out.

Ahh Beach, the photos are great. Sweet looking cat you have there. My hubby is severly allergic to cats and all short haired dogs. My friends cat put him in hospital for a week once back in the UK. I thought he was going to die, especially as while I was waiting to see him after admission, I saw them take what looked like a toe tag to his cubicle. It turned out it was a label for his IV to say what medication was added to it!! He is asthmatic too so he gets really bad. Funny, we had quite the hospital romance, met him in theatre (the O.R.) where we both worked in the 70's, met his family at his bedside when he was in for an allergic reaction to a dog!!

And the rest, as they say, is history!
