Looking at a possible LH shoulder replacement what are the long term implications of this, will I be able to lift much with the new shoulder without fear of it dislocating.

You should be able to do normal lifting after recovery from your shoulder replacement. Recovery can be quite extensive - maybe up to a year or more for full recovery - so be prepared for that possibility. If by "lifting" you are referring to weight lifting or power lifting after surgery, you will need to talk that over with your surgeon. Your shoulder should not dislocate, but that kind of stress on your implant may not be advisable.
