Hi everyone!!!

Today is exactly 1 month before my surgery and my nerve's are high but I keep ready and i am able to calm down lol.

Anyway...

I was just wondering if anyone here can relate to this. My right (bad hip side) butt cheek is smaller then my left. I don't know why but it has always been this way. And from previous surgeries the side is kind of out of shape; meaning the Left side is nice and smooth and my right has a sort of ditch in the middle where my scar is. So my hip looks like a bump-bump instead of a smooth curve. Anyone have this? And the butt being smaller?

Does anything change after the THR?

Oh and one more thing-it feels like on the right hip I have an orange where my joint is, anyone have something similar? what is that???

Thanks,
Bernie

Bernie to be honest I don't really notice those things in myself, but I just remember my hip surgeon commenting that my right butt cheek is smaller than the left. Weak glutes, my whole right leg is smaller , quads etc. I have been working on strengthening. I also had knee surgery on that side (same side as hip replacement) and was not allowed to bend my knee for months . So lots to make up for. After the surgery i do have an indentation where the incision is also.

Few of us are symmetrical. And things like muscles being out of condition don't help. Not sure what you mean about "there's a orange where your joint is". You'll have to describe that a bit differently for me .....

I just saw the pt yesterday and he asked whether I had a wallet in my back pocket (on my good side) there was so much difference between the two butt cheeks!! I'd never really noticed. He reckoned it was just the muscles were less used and needed building up.
