I had total knee replacement on my right knee in 2004. And may of 2019 I had a severe fall and landed on my right knee cap. Images were done on the knee and it showed cysts and particle damage then my right knee was scoped and then I have a written ocular release on the right knee and the knee is still very unstable extremely painful and pops and grinds. What could possibly be the reason for these symptoms? Orthopedics Irving believes that the ceramic material The joint of my knee may be damaged. You're waiting for a knee joint specialist to look at my knee when he joins the practice in August. if anyone has any idea what could be going on or some suggestions please let me know.
Thank you

Welcome to BoneSmart, glad you joined us!

Sorry to hear of all you have been through since you fell on your right knee cap in May 2019. It is possible you damaged some of the ligaments and soft tissue causing the damage that appears to have destabilized your knee.
I managed to stretch the ligaments after my primary TKR, destabilizing my knee with a near fall. I required a revision with a hinged knee to restore stability and relieve the constant pain.

Suggest you look for a third opinion in addition to the second opinion you will be receiving in August from a surgeon specializing in complex joint reconstruction or revisions. Look for an OS that has no relationship with your present surgeon, not even golf buddies.

Please post your surgery date as close as you can remember, a moderator will add it to your signature for you. Having the date will help us properly advise you. Thanks!
