I am kinda worried here. I had one TKR last October and the second May 6th. I was doing really great with the second. Today I am sooooooo stiff and sore. We had a wedding this weekend - and no I did not do any dancing yet!!. But boy was I swollen for 2 days. Knee and ankles. Then today, at PT, it was really tough going. On the bike, my FIRST KR was worse than the second. What gives there I asked????? Its kinda scaring me. Do you think that maybe it could be that I was cut down to 2 times a week for PT now and with the wedding and all I just did not have time to do my exercises at home much this weekend? WIll this pass?
What do you all think? I appreciate any comments.

I know how you feel Cathie. I was doing well just after the MUA last Monday, then I started hurting and getting stiff and swollen again. Now it's torture doing my excercises. I guess it is just the roller coaster effect we all seem to suffer with after our TKR's.

Hopefully you will get through soon. Keep doing the exercises, maybe go easy for a while, but don't stop. Also elevate high (well above your heart) and ice!!! Good luck.

mNo doubt you spent a LOT of time standing, chatting with folk and not resting in a comfy chair but sitting on a dining type chair. No elevation either. Not surprising when you do a marathon type thing like that, that your knee gets miffed and complains. It will settle - don't worry. Just keep up the mantra - ice, ice, ice, elevate, elevate, elevate!
