Best Wishes!

I will leave you our Recovery Guidelines. Each article is short but very informative. Following these guidelines will help you have a less painful recovery.

Knee Recovery: Guidelines

1. Don’t worry: Your body will heal all by itself. Relax, let it, don't try and hurry it, don’t worry about any symptoms now; they are almost certainly temporary
2. Control discomfort:
rest
elevate
ice
take your pain meds by prescription schedule (not when pain starts!)
don't overwork.
3. Do what you want to do BUT
a. If it hurts, don't do it and don't allow anyone - especially a physical therapist - to do it to you
b. If your leg swells more or gets stiffer in the 24 hours after doing it, don't do it again.
4. PT or exercise can be useful BUT take note of these
5. Here is a week-by-week guide for

Good sleeping and good healing!

Thank you for all your well wishes , still in hospital trying to get pain under control, and a racing heart beats not helping
And yes @Softtail I am having my other knee done in 11days.
I am using the CPM machine 3 x a day usually it is set up by the nursing staff ,and have reached 60 degree bend and complete extension, it is painful at 60 so I am getting ready to say NO tomorrow when they will want to increase the bend again, my physio is very understanding and listens to me with her help I am sure I will be able to be discharged,

I think you are smart to take control of the cpm machine and any increases. I hated the cpm---it "walked" off my bed carrying me with it!! But right now, the most important thing is to rest. for the first two weeks I spent 80% of my time in bed with the knee elevated. I was sleepy from the pain meds, so time passes in a daze.

I’m glad they’re keeping you until pain and heart rate is under control. That’s why I ended up in the ER 10 days after surgery.... racing heartbeat due to pain not being managed.

We’re all here for you. And I can’t get your costume out of my mind! So darn funny!

If it's hurting, it's not doing any good. It will be upsetting and inflaming your wounded soft tissues, which could slow down your recovery.

If it was me, I'd be asking to have the bend decreased until it doesn't hurt.

That is exactly what will happen @Celle, did not help that I was not given my anti inflammatory's yesterday, I realised last evening and asked to take them there and then this morning woke up a different person up and showered by 7am sitting out in the chair:angel:
