Hi all
I went to see my consultant yesterday for the 1st time since the op (7weeks) He asked how I was, told me I have a metal and ceramic hip, asked how my physio was going, told me I could drive and said see you in 12 months. I was totally flabbergasted, and just said ok and went home. Is this normal procedure, or do the consultants usually see you more often??? Anyway I'm ok with this just thought it was a bit wierd.
I Drove my car for the first time today, I had to have 4 cusions to get me high enough in my seat, but it felt fine, although I only drove around the villiage.
Been doing quite a bit of walking as well, I'm not really much of a walker for pleasure more of an A to B girl, but physio said it was the best thing for me. I'm determined to get this hip as strong as poss, so I have done as I'm told, and even found myself enjoying it, you never know I might become a fitness fanatic after all these lazy slob years. I also want to do my local race for life. The last couple of year's people have told me they were doing it and I have always said I can't because of my hip, but now I can and I will. Of course I'm ony going to walk it but still its something to aim for.
So all rosy in my garden today, yahoo, oh and I'm going to try and get copies of my x-ray's and post a photo of my scar at some stage. I may need help with this, lol
