Hi all!
I am 5 months out from RTHR.
I went and had a 2nd opinion and this doctor said I am having scar tissue
pain. Down the leg, front of the leg, hip. Has anyone had this and if they have what did they do for it? Or does anyone have any ideas on what to do.
I am wearing a TENS unit.
Thanks,,Gail H.

I did not have that problem GAil. What did the doc who told you it was scar tissue pain tell you to do to help it?

Hi Gail Im a knee sorry . they do a manipulation on a knee they go in under anesthesia and bend it and break up the scar tissue I dont know if they do they same for a hip I guess you could google it and see Im sorry I hoe you can get that fix soon...Good Luck to you........Good question I would like to know if they did that on a hip !!!!!!!:)

Oh I would go to another Dr he sounds like a real help...NOT!!!!!!!!!!!

I'd see what Jo has to say and if she thinks so get another doctor. I just had a test on my spinal thoracic discs. It showed that they are generating pain , yet the doc that did the test said there is nothing that can be done. Of course my spine doc is going to remove them!!

Oh so sorry you are in such pain. I am a knee also.
I have had other scar tissue removed from other surgeries (not from my knee) I am sure there is a really good surgeon that can go
in there and remove it or at least some.

Jo will know

No, Kim, they don't do MUAs on hips!

Only thing I can suggest is some massage. Or, if it really gets bad, an injection of Depomedrone (cortisone). Or have you thought of trying acupuncture? I'd try just about anything if I were in your shoes.

I had one cortisone shot, and they can only do 3-4 a year, and yes I am going to check in to massage, its a different kind of massage, hopefully that will help.
Thanks to all, Love Bone Smart people!

ShopGal....so sorry to hear of this problem that has developed. Maybe it would be worth it to try one other doctor to see if you get the same diagnosis. And the massage therapy is a good idea also.

It seems like there should be something to be done so you are not in pain.....

My PT massages the scar on my leg. To be honest it's the only time it hurts!! =/ rest of the time it only has dull sensation. Hope you find something that will help!! Let us know what you find!
