I had an appointment with my OS yeasterday, he was really pleased with my progress, be it slower than most of my Kneesal Buddies!! Last time I saw him I was at 97 ROM, now, 1 month on I'm at 102. He actually bent my knee himself to see the ROM and thinks he got it to 100 without really pushing too hard. He said he is sure there is still room for improvement, he got it to well over 110 during the MUA.

He also said the swelling and stiffness I still get after being on my feet or exercise is still quite normal at this stage, (8 months), for some people and can continue for a year or more. I don't have to see him now until November.

By the way Jo, I did ask whether I got a knee cap insert too and he said I did and showed me all the three components I have in my knee. He said my knee cap was too bad not to have given me one. Just hard to see it on the X-Ray.

I have also been off that last 1/8th Percocet for the past 4 or 5 days, so I am really feeling pleased with myself for "kicking the habit" finally.

(((((HUGS)))))))) to you all. Going up to our trailer again this weekend,
hopefully it won't rain for a couple of days, it has been the wettest summer in Toronto on record!! Bit like being back in the UK really.

I'm pleased for you, Sue. Really pleased! That is such good news.

More great news from the "winter TKR" girls.

Congratulations Sue! Fabulous news! Keep working on that ROM. You will still make progress with all your hard work.

Have a great weekend! It is very hot here (over 100 degrees F.)! Hope yours is dry!

oh, sue I'm so glad for you. no pills and ROM both major steps. I was glad to hear for my self abouth the swelling at 8 months. Me here at 5 months and i just posted the otherday a thread about finding my knee cap bone and a couple days later it was gone again to the swelling! Guess it means I'm on par.

Sue, I am so happy for you! The ROM and the loss of the percs! I know they have both been hard for you. I also know your Doc is right. My 10 month old knee often hurts more then the 2 month old one! Have a great weekend at the trailer! Karen

Way to go, Sue!!!! You are like me....it always feels better to hear that things are normal from the doc. We are "swell" buddies. I guess we'll just have to wait it out for that to go away entirely. Nice to know we're normal....at least in THAT way. There are probably those that would question normality in other areas, just sayin'. I'm so proud of your accomplishments.

Seeing a surgeon on Monday 18th for progress report.I have only on two occassions seen the surgeon who actually did the op. but that's how it goes over here but I must say they have without exception been very helpful and always answere any questions fully. This time it's to check on the infection I had which has completely cleared. It's nine weeks now since the op.and I'm up and down stairs easily with very little discomfort and no stick, oddly enough, for some reason I have quite nasty pain at night now and then though sleeping quite well.Just back off ten day break in hilly country.'the Long Mynd in Shropshire,Sue' where I did some good walking, the last time we went there before the op.,half an hour would have had me at the teeth gritting stage, even tears of pain so I'm well pleased.Still some way to go on the bending and cycling and some pain in the ligaments.Lying on my back doing 'air cycling' seems to help flexibility.Reading all the postings has been so useful and encouraging. Thanks Jo and all you Hippies and Kneesies out there.Good health and speedy recovery to you all
