THR Right Hip THR rescheduled

Oh no! how frustrating! Im sorry that happened to you! that is so annoying! I hope that misbehaving toe heals quickly so you can go back to being scheduled to get the work done.

Saw my podiatrist on Monday, he said it could be one or two more months until my right big toe heals after toenail removal in December. He said my toe looked good, took an x ray, no changes in the bone.
He told me in January I should be fine by my THR, boy was he wrong.
My toe is still draining clear yellow fluid, I will be taking a course of antibiotics to be sure there is not an infection in my toe.

Messaged with my hip surgeons office, said I wanted to wait until my toe is healed. They agreed that I should wait until my toe is healed before having a THR, which will be in April or May :fingersx:.

Given I have a bit of a break, I took advantage of the extra time to have a left ankle injection today for arthritis.
Pleased I was able to get in so soon.

Best Wishes it heals soon!
@Pumpkin

Finally got put on the right antibiotic for my infected toenail removal, after two days it looks and feels better, eight more days to go. Hoping to reschedule my THR sooner rather than later.

Yay for healing!
I hope it looks like brand new in a week. :thumb:

Great news on the healing! how frustrating it must have been to have been told that it had to be moved. Hopefully you'll have a nicely healed toe in no time.

Good news, Pumpkin!!! These delays can be so frustrating. I know you’re beyond ready to just get it done!!

My toenail is looking a lot better, still needs a little more healing to be ready for a THR. One of the side effects of doxycycline is my silent acid reflux is better, apparently H. Pylori is sensivitive to doxycycline.
Hoping to call in the next week or two to reschedule my THR.

That’s good news about the rescheduling, Pumpkin. And a bonus with the acid reflux! Maybe that improvement will last.

Hey, that's a great two-fer on the antibx!!!

Saw the podiatrist today, my toe is on the mend, needs about another month for the sensitivity to improve. He clipped back my other big toenail to keep ingrown toenails away.

I also talked to him about my left ankle arthritis, the last steroid injection is not working. He does stem cell injections, said immediately said it does not regrow cartilage, but it does reduce inflammation.
Stem cell abstract

My hip is doing OK, good and bad days, thinking that my THR will be scheduled mid to late April. :fingersx:

On the mend is good, as is some preventative maintenance! Sorry your ankle is bothering you, I hope you find relief soon.

Thankfully your hip is hanging in there, not misbehaving daily. Another positive!
Hopefully you'll have a shiny new one by May. :fingersx:

Boy, @Pumpkin.....I know you must be very tired of all these medical issues back to back. You've been doing such a great job of tackling them one at a time and it's nice to hear that some things are getting better for you. April hip surgery sounds like a winner. I know that would help you feel better to have that surgery behind you.

Last night I jammed my toe against a chair leg, dislocated and fractured my little toe at 2 am . This morning we went to the local orthopedic walk in clinic, x rays, toe straightened and taped. Using a post op boot to help keep it stable. I go back next week to be sure it is healing OK :fingersx:

On a lighter note, my THR is rescheduled for May 21st, hopefully the weather will be nicer then. :)

Oh my gosh, Chris….NO FAIR!!!! I hope you don’t hurt too much with the toe. You’ve certainly had your share of issues this past year. I think it’s enough now and your body needs some days with no trauma. I’ve got my fingers crossed for you.

Just sending a big ((hug))

Oh my goodness, Pumpkin, you have been through way too much this past year. I pray that everything heals quickly and that you can get on with your hip replacement. :prayer:
