I'm glad you've had the revision, but sorry to hear you're in pain. Be the squeaky wheel and don't hesitate to bug them on a regular schedule (like every 4 hours) for additional pain medication. Don't wait until it hurts. It's better to keep ahead of the pain by taking the meds regularly through the day and night. I can imagine that this surgery is more painful than your last one because of the size of the wound. That would normally indicate the surgeon had to do a lot of work, which can translate to additional post-op pain. All the more reason for you to insist that they keep working to find medications that keep you comfortable.
Have you talked with your surgeon about what he found? Who was it that ended up doing your revision at HSS?
